My Current Eveyday Make Up

If you had asked me 6 months ago what my everyday make up routine was I would have found it really hard to pick out the products. Reading so many blog posts and watching you tube videos I would always run out and buy the latest hyped up super products that I obviously needed in my life.

As you may or may not be aware since starting my current job my blog has been slightly neglected and hasn't had as much as my time as it deserves, this also means I haven’t had as much time to read other peoples.
As rubbish as I have been this has actually had a positive effect on my bank account and has made me realise which products I really love and keep going back to every day.

To start I prime with the Bourjois Happy Light primer, this is a product I'm really glad I jumped on the bandwagon for. I first purchased DrJart BB cream for my holiday last year as I wanted something lighter with a good spf, since purchasing this I've not looked back. I love how my skin can still breathe yet have a nice dewy finish. I apply this with my trusty buffing brush.

I'm still loving the Collection lasting perfection concealer, even though I hate the way the writing rubs off the packaging I will still continue to repurchase this. To finish my face I will apply the Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder in translucent with my Real Techniques big Duo Fibre Race brush. I then like to set my make up with the Caudalie Beauty Elixir.

I like to keep my eyes simple so usually no eye shadow, the L'oreal Super Liner in black, the Bare Minerals waterproof eyeliner for my waterline and the Benefit Bad Gal mascara for my lashes. Job done.

Cheeks is the beautiful Nars blush in Deep Throat, despite the outrageous name the product itself is beautifully subtle but easily buildable.

And last but not least for my lips I use Mac Hue.

So there we go, my current everyday face. If you do know any products that I am missing in my life please leave your recommendations in the comments!

Do you use any of these products?

Mac Rebel Lipstick

Rebel

I can't tell you how long this has been on my wishlist for, and thanks to a little Christmas money I decided this was the perfect time to purchase. When I got to the Mac counter a quick swatch on my hand completely sold it to me.

Rebel by Mac is a gorgeous vampy plum colour, which really adds a bit of edge to an everyday look, without going a bit too 'Goth' (god I haven't used that work in years but it felt appropriate!). I used to be so scared of wearing a dark lipstick but after lots of swatching and experimenting I actually think these dark burgundy colours suit my skin tone. In fact, this lipstick is one of those that will look perfect on the majority of skintones.

This lipstick has a satin finish which I really like, it applies easily, and has great staying power, I like the fact it isn't completely matte, the satin sheen finishes it off beautifully. It's very pigmented so I tend to apply it quite gently and build on it. Rebel has quickly become my go to lipstick for a night out and will be my first choice up right up until summer.

This is only my second Mac lipstick and it has definitely left me wanting more what colours do you recommend? I'd like a cute everyday pink colour.

Whats your favourite Mac lipstick?

Currently Loving...

Mac Soft and Gentle ♥ Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm ♥ Bourjois Happy Light Primer  Origins Drink up Mask  Real Techniques Duo Fibre Face Brush

I received Mac mineralize skinfinsh in Soft and Gentle last year for Christmas and it still looks like I've barely used it! I tend to reach for highlighters a bit more in the winter months to give my complexion a bit of a boost, Soft and Gerntle is perfect because it adds just the right amount of glow without covering my face in glitter.

Once again the Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm makes an appearance on my blog. This stuff transformed my skin, I cannot rave about it enough. I recently repurchased this and the packaging is slightly different but the product is still as good as ever. Love love love.

I purchased the Bourjois Happy Light base serum when my Laura Mercier primer ran out and I have been really impressed. I love Bourjois as a brand, the Healthy Mix being one of my favourite foundations ever so  I had high hopes for this primer and it hasn't disappointed.

The Origins Drink Up Mask has been on my wishlist for so long and I'm actually kicking myself for not buying it earlier! It smells incredible and leaves my skin looking and feeling great. I use this 2-3 times a week in the evening its amazing how much brighter my skin looks in the morning. Big thumbs up!

The Real Techniques Duo Fibre face Brush is my new go to powder brush, the bristles are ridiculously soft. I use this with my Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder to create flawless finish, its like the 2 products were made for each other.

Have you tried any of these products? What are you loving at the minute?

MAC Hue Lipsitck

This post has been a long time coming, yes this is...my first ever Mac Lipstick! I know, I know call myself a beauty blogger but at least I now have one.

To be honest I had no idea what I was looking for formula wise I just wanted a nice every day colour for work and I ended up picking the gorgeous Hue.

Hue is a subtle pinky nude shade, kind of like a’ Your lips but better’, I think in the photo it doesn't really look like I’m even wearing any (I am, I swear) which can be a good thing if you’re planning to wear it for every day occasions. The formula is really creamy and doesn't dry my lips out.

I did find the staying power wasn't as great as I expected but I assume that’s because of the Glaze finish.
Nevertheless I love applying this and I think I have definitely caught the Mac Lipstick bug, Snob and Rebel are next on my hit list!

What was your first Mac Lipstick? Which would you recommend?

Mac Pink Swoon Sheertone Blush

Pink Swoon

I have a new blush. My first ever MAC blush actually, and I'm not gonna lie, I snapped it up from a blog sale, hi bargain hunter!

I love pretty pink blushes as I think they really complement my pale skin tone so as soon as I saw Pink Swoon I instantly fell for it.

Pink Swoon by MAC is a sheertone blush which is extremely pigmented. I was a bit taken a back when I first open it as to how bright it is in the pan but thankfully the colour pay off isn't this bright on the skin.

You only need a light dusting to get a gorgeous rosy complexion but it is also easy to blend and build so I would recommend applying lightly and building gradually until you get your desired finish.

Now the sun is starting to make an appearance I was a bit concerned it wouldn't look as good on more tanned skin, but it does and actually I think this rosy colour would suit the majority of skin tones.

All in all I'm rather please with my pretty first MAC blush and as I'm very impressed with the quality I will definitely be having a peruse around MAC and swatching looking for my next purchase.

What do you think? What’s your favourite MAC Blush?

MAC Mineralize Skin Finish: Soft and Gentle

MAC Mineralize Skin Finish: Soft and Gentle

“A luxurious velvet-soft powder with high-frost metallic finish”

This may come as a shock to some of you but this is my first ever MAC product, I'm not quite sure why I've never purchased one before but I just haven’t, so you can imagine my excitement Christmas morning when I opened this.

Soft and Gentle is well hyped in the blogger world and it has been on my wish list for a while. I love how the product has quite a marble effect which makes it look that extra bit luxurious.

The colour is a gorgeous champagne colour which will suit most skin tones, I'm naturally quite fair skinned and I find it looks lovely on my natural skin colour and when I have a bit of a tan (which is usually fake these days, sigh.) I can’t wait to use this in the summer as it will be great to give me that healthy summer glow without looking too glittery.

I apply this with my Real Techniques Contour Brush, and sweep it on to my cheek bones, brow bone and anywhere else I thing needs a bit of brightening. I also love the fact you get a massive 10 grams worth of product, this is seriously going to last me a long time. The MSF Retail for £21.50 which for the amount of product you get I’d say is definitely great value for money.

Now that my MAC virginity has been broken I'm looking forward to trying some more products from them, the MSF in Stereo Rose looks gorgeous and I've been recommended my first MAC Lipstick should be something like Crème Cup or Shy Girl.

Have you got any MAC recommendations for me?
