Drinking Wine, Killing Time

It’s not often my boyfriend and I get to spend the whole weekend together, it’s even less likely that we get a weekend together and it’s sunny! So this weekend we wasted no time getting the BBQ out and getting the family round.

My job was to make the prawn skewers and salad, I think I did a fantastic job is I do say so myself.  I wasn't allowed near the BBQ itself…apparently it’s a man’s job? Well I wasn't too fussed that left me with more time to socialise and enjoy a nice cold beverage, these dark fruit Strongbow taste amazing and so refreshing in the sun. I also got told off for eating most of the parsnip crisps before people had ever arrived, oops (I'm not sorry.)

Please excuse my pale legs; I'm not one of these people that tan easily, if at all but I did manage to burn my back though which is really uncomfortable today.

This little cat is like our adopted cat, he lives two doors down and is possibly the friendliest cat there is, he sat with us the whole day and got so much attention from everyone, what a little fuss pot.

I can’t believe its Monday again already, and I can’t believe its July! Where is this year going!? It’s  my birthday and holiday this month, bring it on, clean eating July starts today!

Did you enjoy the sun this weekend?

Sunday Night Pamper Session

Sunday Essentials

There's no better feeling than putting your feet up after a mad weekend and that exactly what i'm doing tonight.

After spending the weekend at my friends in London eating, drinking and sleeping on the floor in my sleeping bag all I want to do is feel clean and have a good sleep in my own bed.

To start the huge bags under my eyes are hideous lack of sleep really does take its toll, so I soaked 2 cotton pads with Liz Earle’s Eye Bright and left them on my eyes for 10 minutes, I find this so relaxing. Next up my skin needed a mega deep clean, Emma Hardie Amazing Face Cleansing Balm, what the hell would I do without you?! I could literally feel the effects of the weekend melting off my face. I then followed this with the No7 Purifying mask just as a little extra treat for my skin; I love how soft this leaves my skin.

While I’m waiting for my boyfriend to finish work I decided to paint my toenails to, today’s choice is No7 Vivid Violet and Purple Haze by Models Own, pretty painted toenails make me feel special.

Sunday night wouldn't be complete without a cup of tea, cheeky bar of chocolate, the #bbloggers chat and an early night, gosh I sound old. Once I've gone through my photos I’ll hopefully be able to show you a few from my weekend, if you follow me on Instagram you may have already seen the delicious food I have indulged in! I can't believe its Monday already tomorrow, where does the time go!?

What have you been up to this weekend? Do you have a Sunday night routine too?

Sunday Funday: The Roast

Grilled Goat's Cheese with Roast Peppers, Raspberries and Rocket Salad
Slow Cooked Blade of Beef with Horseradish Mash and Roast Vegetables
The Polar Bear

Once again the weekend is over, why do those 2 days always go so fast!? Yesterday for me was a very indulgent. On the spur of the moment my house mate and I decided that a roast dinner was well and truly needed, I don’t know about you but this weather just makes me want something warm and comforting.
We went to one of our fave little restaurants which is conveniently only a 10 minute walk from our house, and for the mega deal of 2 courses for £10.95 you really can’t complain.

I opted for the goats cheese starter which was delicious but so filling! My eyes are always bigger than my belly and 1 course would have definitely been enough. The beef was just melt in your mouth gorgeous, slow cooked meats always have such a great taste but I felt like I'd put on about 2 stone afterwards!

I've been keeping up with my resolutions and been to the gym 3 times each week which I'm pretty proud that I've managed to stick to it. I've also still not had any alcohol through all of January and it’s really not bothered with me that much. With dinner I had 2 slim line tonics i think it still pretty much tastes like its got vodka in it so i don’t feel like I'm missing out, maybe ill end up t total after this!

Look at my hire car all camouflaged in the snow. What's the point in having a flashy new car to ride around in when it’s so snowy and slippy! I'm hoping my car will be back from the garage soon but its really made me think it might be time to upgrade. Why does everything cost so much money, sigh. Speaking of money its finally pay day on Friday for me yeeeeeeees!! What a long month it's been.

Hope you all had a great weekend and the snow isn't causing you too many problems.

Sunday Funday: Lets do Lunch

I love Sundays whether its spent all day in my pj’s, visiting family or having a nice Sunday roast. The only thing that can ruin a Sunday is hangover but at least you know you had a good night!

Today I had a lunch date with my house mate  There isn't much going on in the town where I live but there are a couple of little gems that serve nice food and this little Italian café is one of them. I can’t for the life of me remember its name but it begins with an S, I think it’s like Saranos or something.

I love places which have character and this place is beautifully decorated and kind of makes you feel like you have gone away somewhere exciting for lunch.

I opted for the spicy chicken and jalapeño omelette which was delicious, and a bottle of sparkling elderflower (I can’t get enough of this stuff at the moment), followed by a latte.

The evening was spent with a glass of cava, x factor and Homeland. A perfect Sunday afternoon.

What did you get up to this weekend?
