My Current Eveyday Make Up

If you had asked me 6 months ago what my everyday make up routine was I would have found it really hard to pick out the products. Reading so many blog posts and watching you tube videos I would always run out and buy the latest hyped up super products that I obviously needed in my life.

As you may or may not be aware since starting my current job my blog has been slightly neglected and hasn't had as much as my time as it deserves, this also means I haven’t had as much time to read other peoples.
As rubbish as I have been this has actually had a positive effect on my bank account and has made me realise which products I really love and keep going back to every day.

To start I prime with the Bourjois Happy Light primer, this is a product I'm really glad I jumped on the bandwagon for. I first purchased DrJart BB cream for my holiday last year as I wanted something lighter with a good spf, since purchasing this I've not looked back. I love how my skin can still breathe yet have a nice dewy finish. I apply this with my trusty buffing brush.

I'm still loving the Collection lasting perfection concealer, even though I hate the way the writing rubs off the packaging I will still continue to repurchase this. To finish my face I will apply the Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder in translucent with my Real Techniques big Duo Fibre Race brush. I then like to set my make up with the Caudalie Beauty Elixir.

I like to keep my eyes simple so usually no eye shadow, the L'oreal Super Liner in black, the Bare Minerals waterproof eyeliner for my waterline and the Benefit Bad Gal mascara for my lashes. Job done.

Cheeks is the beautiful Nars blush in Deep Throat, despite the outrageous name the product itself is beautifully subtle but easily buildable.

And last but not least for my lips I use Mac Hue.

So there we go, my current everyday face. If you do know any products that I am missing in my life please leave your recommendations in the comments!

Do you use any of these products?

Currently Loving...

Mac Soft and Gentle ♥ Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm ♥ Bourjois Happy Light Primer  Origins Drink up Mask  Real Techniques Duo Fibre Face Brush

I received Mac mineralize skinfinsh in Soft and Gentle last year for Christmas and it still looks like I've barely used it! I tend to reach for highlighters a bit more in the winter months to give my complexion a bit of a boost, Soft and Gerntle is perfect because it adds just the right amount of glow without covering my face in glitter.

Once again the Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm makes an appearance on my blog. This stuff transformed my skin, I cannot rave about it enough. I recently repurchased this and the packaging is slightly different but the product is still as good as ever. Love love love.

I purchased the Bourjois Happy Light base serum when my Laura Mercier primer ran out and I have been really impressed. I love Bourjois as a brand, the Healthy Mix being one of my favourite foundations ever so  I had high hopes for this primer and it hasn't disappointed.

The Origins Drink Up Mask has been on my wishlist for so long and I'm actually kicking myself for not buying it earlier! It smells incredible and leaves my skin looking and feeling great. I use this 2-3 times a week in the evening its amazing how much brighter my skin looks in the morning. Big thumbs up!

The Real Techniques Duo Fibre face Brush is my new go to powder brush, the bristles are ridiculously soft. I use this with my Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder to create flawless finish, its like the 2 products were made for each other.

Have you tried any of these products? What are you loving at the minute?

And I've Given In To The Hype...Again

It always happens; you see so many rave reviews about a product that you have to have it in your life. My spending ban was going so well but this weekend just gone I felt like I needed a little pick me up so a trip to Boots happened.

I've been so busy at work recently that the whole Bourjois Happy Light hype had managed to get passed me it wasn't until I saw a picture of the new range on Instagram that it really grabbed my attention. I was so happy that in the little Boots where I live stocked the primers so I opted for the Luminous Serum Primer to give my skin a little pick me up and I have to say so far so good! It keeps my made up in place and gives my skin a nice glow and at the moment its only £6.99 so it would have just been rude not too.

The Maybelline Baby Lips hype really did not excite me. To me they just seemed like a lip balm with bright tacky packaging. However after seeing swatches over on Pearls and Poodles I was a bit more intrigued. So I finally caved and o my goodness I wish I had bought them earlier! The colours are gorgeous and it really does leave my lips super soft, it does need reapplying throughout the day but for £2.99 that’s to be expected and to be honest I enjoy reapplying it, they taste nice too!

The Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer is actually a repurchase, I can’t remember how long ago it was when I gave into this hype but I haven’t tried any other concealer since. It’s amazing at covering blemishes and lasts all day. I won’t harp on too much about this as I'm sure you have all seen countless reviews but seriously if you haven’t tried this…why not?!

What have you been buying lately? Do you give into blogger hype easily?

I Heart...Bourjois

The Bourjois Face

Hi Ladies. Today is the start of my ‘I Heart…’ series, there are so many brands and products that I have been so impressed with recently so I thought this would give me a chance to show your different pieces that I highly recommend and hopefully you will like too.

I have never experienced a bad Bourjois product. Everything I have purchased I have been more than happy with, the quality is always worthy of high end products and the packaging is so cute and girly It always attracts to their make up stand. Here are my top Bourjois Picks

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation was my ‘go to’ foundation last summer, its light but gives enough coverage to give you (as the name suggests) a healthy glow. This is also the foundation I reach for on a night out, as it doesn't cause any camera flashback. The Healthy Mix concealer also works a treat; I tend to use this under my eyes.

I purchased the 123 Perfect Foundation when Healthy Mix was out of stock at my local Boots, this foundation gives a medium coverage with a dewy finish. I love the fact this foundation comes in a glass bottle compared to the Healthy Mix.

I love mascara and I’m always on the lookout for something to give me flirty fluttery lashes and the Queen Volume Mascara does just that. The colour is a very intense black and it doesn't take much to achieve defined lashes with amazing volume and length.

The Blush Pots are Adorable, I love the cute little packaging and it also include and brush and a mirror. The blush itself very pigmented and adds a lovely touch of colour to your cheeks, my particular favourite is Lilas D'or as it was beautiful golden shimmer running through it. I usually carry one around with me in my make up bag as it’s so compact.

The Rouge Edition Lipsticks are the latest additions to my collection, these apply so easily to your lips and have a great colour payoff, Rose Tweed 04 is currently my go to everyday lipstick as it’s not too over the top for work. I'm also a big fan of the Lip Exclusif lipgloss as it adapts to the ph in your lips so everyone has their own unique shade, how clever!

What do you think of Bourjois products? Is there a product you recommend I try from them?

Bourjois Rose Exclusif

Rose Exclusif

I’m sure I first heard about this lipgloss when I was flicking through a magazine and one of the TOWIE girls was sporting it. I’m not usually the type and buy something just because a celeb says its great but there was something about the lipgloss that excited me.

The Bourjois Rose Exclusif lipgloss is a clear lipgloss that self-adjusts into a unique shade of pink when applied to your lips, so basically everyone gets a different colour.

The first time I applied this I put it on like a normal lip gloss and within minutes my lips were a ridiculously bright pink! I still remember the look of horror on my face. After that I tried again and tried applying it sparingly and I got a lovely deep pink, a much more ‘me’ shade.

I tend to use this at night as I think it’s a bit OTT for everyday where, I just try to remember not to reapply too much as the colour really does build very bright.

A gave my friend one of these for her birthday and the morning after her birthday party she must have applied so much it had stained her lips! I found it hilarious and it definitely cheered me up in my hung over state!

I found the formula for this to be quite sticky which I’m not so keen on; my hair tends to get stuck in it very easily, god help me if there’s a big gust of wind!

Overall I am happy with this product; you can pick one up from Boots for £7.69.

Have you tried this lipgloss? What kind of shade did you get?

♥ I just wanted to add that this is my 100th post! Thank you so much to everyone that has taken the time to follow and comment on my posts you are all babes. Here's to the next 100!

My Current Mascara Collection

L'oreal Telescopic mascara is my current every day mascara. I use it in 'Brown' as I like to keep my work make-up as natural as possible. When I first got this I was a bit unsure if I would like it as the bristles on the brush aren't very long but that doesn't stop it from lengthening my lashes ridiculously. I think if I wore this to work in black I would look like I’m wearing some crazy false lashes so brown suits me just fine. This is a definite repurchase and would happily recommend it.

Max Factor have always been one of my 'go to' brands for mascara and this one didn't disappoint. The Max Factor Xperience Volumising Mascara has a great brush and really lengthens and defines my lashes. I don't love this as much as Master piece Max but I'm not quite sure why because it still gives my lashes great volume. But I do know I can always rely on Max factor for a fabulous Mascara.

Another L'oreal, this time it’s the Volume Million Lashes Luminizer mascara for Hazel Eyes (bit of a mouthful!). I was very apprehensive to try this product as when you open it you are greeted by a very deep plum colour and I just thought 'I'm going to look like a drag queen!'. I am very pleased to say this is not the case. This mascara is incredible for creating volume and length and is perfect for a night out. The purple colour is supposed to help bring out my eye colour, now I’m not sure if this really works but it does make my eyelashes amazingly long so would recommend this mascara for that reason alone.

Bourjois Volumizer. This took me a while to get the hang of it has 2 steps. The first is to lengthen and the second is to add volume. With step one the brush is so flimsy, because it’s so long it took me a while to master the technique but after a while it definitely does create volume. I'm not sure if I would repurchase this, it does the job but for the same price I'd rather get a trusty Max factor or L'oreal.

I was so excited to try the Jemma kidd I-Glamour Volume mascara when I saw it in Red magazine as Jemma Kidd is a very popular brand amongst the blogging community. The brush is huge! And unfortunately that’s where my excitement ends. I'm not sure whether it’s just mine but this product smudges like a b*tch. As soon as I apply it it's all over my eyelid and under my eye and I know I've not used to much product, It could be the size of the brush but I can't be sure. This retails at £15 which is the most out of all my mascaras, and would i pay full price for it? No.

What’s your current favourite mascara? Do you prefer high end or is high-street the way forwards?

Mini Haul

This month seems to be so long and I still don't get paid for another week. That being said I still managed to find a little bit of money this weekend to treat myself to some goodies.

Superdrug

I needed some more Healthy Mix Foundation and in Superdrug it was on 3 for 2! I also picked up the concealer and a gorgeous blusher, Lilas D'or. An added bonus was if you buy 3 products you get some free sunglasses, score! Not sure if I will wear them much but I thought it was worth it for the cute glasses case alone.

Boots

Boots have 3 for 2 of all hair care at the moment so I stocked up on my trusty Aussie. Time I went for Take The Heat as i have been using a lot of hair stylers at the minute. I love the 3 Minute Miricle Deep treatment, It really makes my hair feel so soft and makes me feel less guilty about the strain I put my Poor hair through!

Wilkinsons

A random find but this cute little set of draws were only £1! I can always use more storage and this will be great for storing jewellry, lipsticks, eyeshadows and any other little bits and bobs that currently have no home.

So not too much this weekend but enough to keep me happy. What have you been buying this weekend?
