My Current Eveyday Make Up

If you had asked me 6 months ago what my everyday make up routine was I would have found it really hard to pick out the products. Reading so many blog posts and watching you tube videos I would always run out and buy the latest hyped up super products that I obviously needed in my life.

As you may or may not be aware since starting my current job my blog has been slightly neglected and hasn't had as much as my time as it deserves, this also means I haven’t had as much time to read other peoples.
As rubbish as I have been this has actually had a positive effect on my bank account and has made me realise which products I really love and keep going back to every day.

To start I prime with the Bourjois Happy Light primer, this is a product I'm really glad I jumped on the bandwagon for. I first purchased DrJart BB cream for my holiday last year as I wanted something lighter with a good spf, since purchasing this I've not looked back. I love how my skin can still breathe yet have a nice dewy finish. I apply this with my trusty buffing brush.

I'm still loving the Collection lasting perfection concealer, even though I hate the way the writing rubs off the packaging I will still continue to repurchase this. To finish my face I will apply the Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder in translucent with my Real Techniques big Duo Fibre Race brush. I then like to set my make up with the Caudalie Beauty Elixir.

I like to keep my eyes simple so usually no eye shadow, the L'oreal Super Liner in black, the Bare Minerals waterproof eyeliner for my waterline and the Benefit Bad Gal mascara for my lashes. Job done.

Cheeks is the beautiful Nars blush in Deep Throat, despite the outrageous name the product itself is beautifully subtle but easily buildable.

And last but not least for my lips I use Mac Hue.

So there we go, my current everyday face. If you do know any products that I am missing in my life please leave your recommendations in the comments!

Do you use any of these products?

Nars Deep Throat Blush ♥ Origins Ginzing Eye Cream ♥ Maybelline Color Tattoo On and On Bronze ♥ Benefit Total Moisture ♥ Rimmel Kate 107 Lipstick ♥ Real Techniques Blush Brush

Deep Throat by Nars has to be one of the most beautiful blushes I own, it's a gorgeous warm coral colour with a very subtle of shimmer, its a bit more wearable for every day then the infamous Orgasm. This has been my go to every day blush for about 2 months now and I cant see it being replaces anytime soon.

The Real Techniques Blush Brush goes hand in hand with Deep Throat, it's like they were meant to be! The brush is so soft and applies the blush effortlessly, you really cant go wrong with real techniques.

Just as I ran out of moisturuser I received this little pot from Benefit for my birthday and I have to say i'm impressed. I've no had much luck with Benefit makeup but the skin care has been much better. this moisturiser leaves my skin so soft, I like to use it before bed.

No eye cream had really knocked my socks of until I tried this bad boy. The Origins Ginzing Eye cream is fabulous and just make you look do much more awake in the mornings, I couldn't be without this now.

The next to products are one's I've fallen back in love with. On and On bronze is stunning and so good at keeping your eye shadow in place. The name Colour Tattoo couldn't be more perfect as this stuff just doesn't budge!

Last is my trustly Rimmel Kate 107 lipstick, a real blogger fave and rightly so. The colour is so striking and it stays on my lips for hours, I'm quite lazy when it comes to topping up lipstick so when they have amazing staying power I know I have a winner.

Statment Necklaces ♥ Dr Jart BB Cream ♥ L'oreal Telescopic Mascara ♥ Deborah  Milano Shine Creator Lipstick* ♥ Rimmel Soft Kohl White Eyeliner

I love how a piece of jewellery can completely change an outfit; a statement necklace just adds that finishing touch and a bit of glamour. Both of the necklaces above are from Dorothy Perkins.

To be honest I've not been wearing a lot of make up in the heat we have been having lately but on days I have felt I needed a bit of coverage I have been reaching for the Dr Jart Water Fuse BB Cream. Its lightweight, has an spf of 25 and leaves my skin with a natural dewy finish. So far so good Dr Jart!

The L’oreal False Lash Telescopic is a repurchase and I had forgotten how good it was! This stuff is the master at achieving long fluttery lashes, I get this colour in brown as it thinks my lashes look more natural.

The lip product I have been constantly reaching for is the Deborah Milano Shine Creator Lipstick in Shade 14. It’s the perfect colour and formula for summer and I love how it keeps my lips feeling soft.

Last but not least is the Rimmel Soft Kohl Kajal Eyeliner in white. I love bit of white in the inner corner of my eyes just to open them up a bit and this applies so easily, has great ware time and only costs about £4, bargain.

The 'whoops I snoozed too many times' Face

This week when Monday morning rolled around my alarm went off, followed by my second and then my third. The next thing I know the postman is banging on the door with a delivery and I realized I overslept by 30 minutes!

Panic mode sets in and I start moving so fast I could give sonic a run for his money, but somewhere in between jumping in the shower and trying to put my clothes on the right way the blogger in me thought what a great idea for a post, so here are the products that made it onto my face in the 3 minutes or so that I had to turn myself from zombie to a presentable employee.

For a base I used the Botanics BB Cream which gives a light and dewy finish to brighten my skin. The next step and probably most important is concealer, those under eye bags have got to go so I opted for the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer as its pretty heavy duty and will easily help hide the fact that I'm still half asleep. I think this took me about a minute to apply.

I used the Sleek Eyebrow Kit in dark for my brows and I know some people may not class brow products as an essential but it really does make a difference to my face when they are filled in. Rimmels Scandaleyes Eyeliner in Nude used on my waterline helps to hide any redness, I finished my eyes with Benefit’s They’re Real on my lashes, this is great for fanning out my lashes and making my eyes look more open.

Last but not least is a bit of blusher; the nearest one to me was Nars Orgasm which added a nice of a healthy glow. I finished off with a bit of Palmers Cocoa Butter Lip Balm on my lips and I’m done.

Thinking about it now maybe I can actually get away with and extra half an hours sleep more often!

What products do you reach for in a rush?

I Heart...Rimmel

The Rimmel Face

Today I am focusing on the high street make up Brand Rimmel London. I didn't actually realise how many Rimmel products I owned and loved, some of them are my everyday ‘go to’ pieces that I couldn't live without and a few that I crack out for more special occasions.

First up is the Stay Matte Pressed Powder, I use this over my foundation every day without fail; it sets my foundation beautifully and keeps unwanted shine at bay. There is no need for me to try and find anything ‘better’ or more high end as I'm more than happy with the job this does.

If you’re looking for an eye liner that won’t budge then The Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer is what you need, it’s pretty much made your water line and stays in place all day
.
I have recently purchased the Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl in nude. I read a lot about this online and as im a big fan of their black I didn't hesitate to pick this up. Again it has great staying power and is perfect for covering up any eye redness and giving you a  natural look.

Another new product to me is the Scandaleyes Eye Shadow stick. This is so easy to apply that even if you’re not an eyeshadow expert like myself you can still create a gorgeous look. The formula is lovely and creamy and has great pigmentation. I Have Bulletproof Beige and I especially like to use this in the inner corner of my eyes.

Rimmel lip products are always popluar with bloggers especially the Kate moss collection and most recently the Apocalips, so obviously I joined the hype. The Kate Moss lipstick in 107 is one of my favourites for going out in, I love the colour pay off and it stays so long on my lips. I'm also loving Apocalips in Celestial which is perfect for adding a bit of glam to an everyday look.

What do you think, have Rimmel impressed you lately? What other high street brands are you loving?

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate Moss 107

After having a fear of bright lipstick for so long I am happy to say I am finally breaking down this barrier and being a bit more experimental with my lipstick choices. I've actually discovered that with my dark hair I actually quite suit deep, plum colours so when I saw the Rimmel Lasting Finish Matte Lipstick by Kate Moss in 107 over on the lovely Amy’s blog sale I had to snap it up.

As with other Kate Moss lipsticks I have tried it is so pigmented and you don’t really need to use much to get a great colour pay off I find one layer is enough, and it really does last well on my lips. I have found with some matte lipsticks that I have used before that they can be quite drying but I haven’t had this problem with this.

I wish I had purchased this colour earlier as it would have been perfect for autumn/winter, maybe not so much in the springtime but I have been reaching for this when I have been going on a night out as I think it adds a bit of edge to my overall look.

I haven’t really got a bad word to say about this, if you are after an affordable, long lasting lipstick then this range is the one to check out.

Have you tried any Kate Moss Lipsticks?

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation

Even when I find a high street foundation I like I'm always intrigued in what other brands have to offer and for one reason or another I have never gotten around to purchasing this well hyped offer from Rimmel.

I am probably the last blogger to own this but the Rimmel ‘Wake Me Up’ foundation finally has a place on my dressing table. First of all I love that it comes in a glass bottle with a pump, all foundations should come like this.

The product itself applies very easily and one pump is more than enough to give me the perfect even coverage. My favourite part of this is the finish, I am can now say that this is fully worth the hype as it gives a beautifully healthy look to my skin, like it really has ‘woken’ my skin up, which let’s face it, most of us need in these cold and dark mornings.

The staying power is great, I use this over my Clarins Instant Smooth Primer and it lasts all day. For a high street foundation I'm so impressed and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this if you’re looking for an affordable product that does the job, I wish I'd picked this up sooner.

Have you tried 'Wake me up'? What's your current favourite foundation?

Rimmel Apocalips | Celestial

To be honest when I first heard about the Rimmel Apocalips I wasn't overly excited but as usual after reading many reviews I found myself perusing the isles of Boots hunting them down.

I decided to go for Celestial, a pretty pearly pink that’s perfect for every day. The formula applies so easily, it lasts on my lips a good few hours and doesn't leave my lips feeling dry. I did find that it made its way onto my teeth quite easily but I'm not sure if that’s me being an idiot applying it in too much of a rush?

I’d quite like to try out Big Band next which is a really vibrant red but I'm not sure if I'm brave enough to pull that off yet.

Have you dabbled in the Apocalips yet? What’s your favourite shade?

Once again I can't believe it's already Monday morning where does the weekend go!? I had a job interview this morning to work in corporate event sales and got it! I'm just so worried about working on commission though as I've never done it before and obviously I have bills and rent to pay so I'm really scared! Does anyone else work on commission? Do you find it's worth it? would love your thoughts.

what did you get up to this weekend?

Roses are Red and So Is My Lipstick

Happy Valentines Day

If there’s ever a more perfect occasion to rock a red lip than Valentine’s Day is it. I know a lot of people feel Valentine’s Day is a bit of a cop out and you shouldn't have to celebrate your relationship on a specific day, but I think it’s sweet, if you get given a card or flowers etc. its guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

Everyone associates red with love and Valentine’s Day, its bold, sexy, and head turning, you can’t walk into a card shop without seeing a sea of read hearts.
These are my products of choice to complete that Valentine’s Day look.

Lips
I've opted for Rosetto 022 by Kate’s Lasting finish Collection. I love this colour; it’s bright but also quite deep with blue undertones which make it suitable for all skin tones. As the name suggests it is very long lasting so perfect if you’re going out a date.

Nails
Salsa by No7 is a beautiful red with silver shimmer running through it which makes it that extra bit special. I think red nails are so sophisticated. The colour is opaque in two coats and I usually find it lasts about 2 days without chipping (without a base or top coat.)

How cute is this card! I absolutely love it and it really makes me giggle because it describes me and my boyfriend perfectly.

As my boyfriends is at work on Valentine ’s Day I shall be spending the evening with my house mate cooking up a storm, or possibly a ordering a takeaway. I remember last year 3 of my friends and I went to the chip shop had a bottle of wine and watched films, who says romance is dead!

Recent Repurchases

Caudalie Beauty Elixr ♥  Emma Hardie Amazing Face Cleansing Balm ♥  Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic ♥  Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder ♥  Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

Hi Guys! January has been the longest month for me money wise, trying to stretch my wages for 6 weeks has been a mammoth task so I have really tried to keep my spending to a minimum. There are a few products though that were essential for my survival. You know you love a product when you dread the thought of them running out and continue to repurchase over and over again even in the tight money months.

My first experience with the Caudalie Beauty Elixr was very love/hate, it wasn't until I actually finished the bottle I realised it was actually true love. You know that saying "You don't know what you got til its gone?" This is definitely how I feel about this and I appreciate it so much more now I have it back in my life.

This is my First full size Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm and I actually purchased it while I was half way though my trial size pot! I love, love, love it it's probably the best product that's ever happen to my skin.

Before I repurchased the Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic I tried my hardest to find a high street toner that I loved just as much, this didn't happen. This toner is so gentle and effective it really soothes my skin but if  you do know of a high street dupe please let me know!

Make up wise, the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder and Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer are products that I've actually lost count of how many times I've repurchased. Its so good when you fall in love with products that don't break the bank, they both have a  very safe place in my make up bag for the foreseeable future.

Today I have finally been paid! Friday and pay day is such a win it actually feels like my birthday right now. I just need to try and not go crazy and spend the majority of it in the first week. Am I the only one that finds there is too much month left at the end of the money? Happy Friday everyone.

Nails: A Case of the Blues

Bikini So Teeny ♥ Celestial  ♥ Dazzling Blue ♥ Azure ♥ Betty Blues

I’m one of those girls that like to paint my nails according to my mood and this week didn't start great for me, hence feeling a bit blue. I also like to use nail polish as a way to lift my mood; if I have pretty nails it makes me feel that bit better.

It turns out I own quite a few blue polishes, who knew?  I've picked out my top 5 which are a lovely mix of shades. Essie’s Bikini So Teeny was one of the most hyped polish of last year, a gorgeous pale blue perfect for summer. When I purchased Bikini So Teeny I didn't realise i actually owned a very similar colour, Topshop's Celestial is just slightly brighter, I might not have bought Essie if I had realised this but I still like them both.

Dazzling blue From Max Factor is a lovely sky blue with a gold shimmer running though it, I love this just because its really different. Rimmel's Azure I wear when I fancy something a bit in your face, I love the pearly finish it has. Last but not least is Betty Blues by No7, a navy, off black which I think is quite sophisticated. When it catches the light you can see its beautiful midnight sheen.

This weeks winner though has to be Bikini So Teeny. Even though I said its perfect for summer, I think it looks great in this cold frosty weather. I always get complements on my nails when I wear this and that did help give me a little lift.
Do you own any of these colours? Which is your favourite?

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder ~ Peach Glow

I have been using the powder for what seems like a life time, this has been one of my absolute make up must haves long before I discovered blogging. I haven't blogged about this before just because I don't really find that powder is a product to get excited about, I mean, its just powder. Then again this 'just powder' is a product that I have repurchased numerous times and use every day without fail.

The packaging is nothing special, just plastic but it does the job and I've never had one that's cracked yet but its the product that counts. The shade I use is 003 Peach Glow which I apply with my ELF Complexion Brush. As the product name suggest this helps to mattify my skin beautifully, I have combination skin and it works a treat on my t-zone which can get quite oily. It also doesn't leave my make up looking 'cakey', there's nothing worse than looking at photos when you can really see people make up, you can get full coverage and still look natural.

Rimmel's Stay Matte Pressed Powder retails for £3.99 and I will continue to repurchase this for the foreseeable future, you know what they say, If it's not broke, don't fix it! This highstreet bargain has a safe place in my make up collection.

This weekend I'm braving the shops to try and get some extra Christmas present bits, I'm dreading it! I can't wait until I finally have everything sorted and can enjoy Christmas, a cheeky glass of prosecco may be in order if I can't handle the Christmas shoppers. I'm also off out for a 6 course taster meal so hopefully will have a yummy food post up next week. Have a good weekend guys! Xx

Rouge à lèvres lasting finish by Kate in Rossetto

Rossetto 022

So I have done it, I have taken the plunge to brave my first red lip! I don't know why I'm such a wimp when it comes to lip colour, I think I'm just scared in case I get it wrong which is stupid I know because make up is all about experimenting.

Anyway so here is it, I opted for Rimmel's Rouge à lèvres Lasting Finish by Kate Moss in Rossetto, I've heard a lot of good things about this line so after swatching a few colours I decided this was the one. Rosetto is a gorgeous deep red which is perfect for a dramatic stand out look and giving you that bit of edge.

The colour applies easily and is very pigmented, so for a wuss like me I apply it lightly and then build on it. The staying power is great and lasted for the majority of my night, it only needed a top up after I had eaten which is to be expected.

My one negative with this lipstick is that I found that it left my lips feeling quite dry and wasn't hydrating at all. I now tend to use a lip balm before applying this.

Overall I am happy with my first red lip and I'm looking forward to being adventurous with more colours.

Rimmel Lasting Finish lipsticks by Kate can be picked up from Boots for £5.49.

What lipsticks would you recommend?

Holiday Heroes: Egypt

Hi ladies, today's post is dedicated to my Egypt holiday heroes. It was about 36 degrees everyday while i was there and I would not have survived without these products, well that might be a bit of an exaggeration but I certainly would be burned to a crisp and lobster red without them!

♥ Calypso Deep Tan. I got this bad boy for about £3 from body care and I used this everyday when I felt I needed to top up my SPF or if I felt I was burning. It's also supposed to help enhance your tan and I have returned pretty bronzed so I am happy.

♥ No7 Triple Protection Moisturiser. This featured in my Italy Holiday Saviours post so I knew I needed this with me. I didn't really wear make up while I was there, but this is great for a bit of extra face protection and to cover my blemishes.

♥ Caudalie Beauty Elixr. I was unsure weather to take this with me or not but I'm so glad I did, It was so refreshing to spritz onto my skin. I also used it at night after cleansing and it made my skin feel clean and like I really had got rid of all  the sun cream and salt water that had made my skin feel dry.

♥ Palmers Moisturising Lip Balm. Love this stuff. My lips usually get quite dry when there is an extreme change in temperature and this helped keep them moisturised. It also has SPF 15 which is a bonus.

♥ Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder. I used this at night time when we went out and it just helped reduce the amount of shine on my face, can't go wrong.

♥ Riemans P20. This also featured in my Italy Post and I would never go on holiday without this. It is so amazing at protecting my skin from the sun, you apply it once in the morning and it protects you all day even in water, a must for any hot holiday.
