The A-Z of Me Tag

It seems a bit vain doing a tag all about me but I think it's nice to get to know the blogger behind the keyboard. As your reading this I am hopefully catching some rays, sipping a cocktail or having a swim in the sea, yeah that's right I'm on holiday in Mexico! The picture above is from my holiday to Florida last year and it sums me up quite nicely that I like sunshine and animals, this little pig was so grumpy I just wanted to cuddle him.

D. Drink of choice – Red Wine not too much just a nice glass every so often to relax, or a nice cup of tea

E. Essential to start your day – A shower, I can’t wake up without one

F. Favourite Colour – at the minute Burgundy but it changes all the time

G. Guilty pleasure – Made in Chelsea, half the time I cringe at the awkwardness but I can't help but love it

H. Height – 5’8, wish I was a bit smaller so I could wear high shoes

I. Indulgence – Melted cheese, have you event baked a Camembert and had it with crusty bread? You should its incredible.

J. Job – I have a full time office job and a part time pub job

M. Music – Love it, I like to think of myself as the 6^th member of The Saturdays

N. Nicknames – Charlie (my Real name is Charlotte) or the boy sometimes calls me sausage :/

O. Overnight stays in hospital – Never. I don’t actually get ill, which worries me because I think one day I will get hit by something big!

V. Vegetable you love – anything green and crunchy, like mange tout. I like Broccoli too and love mushy peas do they count? 

W. Worst habit – using sarcasm when I shouldn't

X. X-rays – I've had one at the dentist I think, but I have been lucky enough to have never broken a bone!

Y. Your favourite hobby – The Gym, bit of a boring one but I really enjoy it. My boyfriend and I have also started playing badminton and that's such a giggle.

Z. Zoo Animal – I quite like those massive tortoise’s that don’t really do a lot, I always wonder what they must be thinking, I bet they wish they could move. And who doesn't love a monkey?

50 Random Facts Tag

1. I drink way to much tea. Green tea, English Breakfast tea, Earl Grey, I drink it all.
2. I know pretty much know all of the words to the film Mean Girls, "You go Glen Coco!"
3. I prefer dark chocolate to milk
4. I used to be a bit of a fatty and lost nearly 3 stone :) I still always struggle with those last few pounds though.
5. I can't stand baked beans, I think its the texture but just eugh.
6. I worry too much and always want things to be perfect
7. I've never dyed my hair. I know that might sound a bit boring but I don't think I'd suit any other colour. I am tempted to ombre though.
8. I have my ears pierced twice, no tattoos.
9. I gave up alcohol for January and I did not miss the hangovers!

11. My blog is a secret I'm not sure why, I think its just a nice escape for me

What's In My Bag Tag

What's In My Handbag

Today's post is giving you a sneak peak inside my handbag. I love these types of posts as i'm quite nosy and I always see little bits that I wish I had in mine. I have cheated a little bit and taken all my receipts out, I tend to just stick them in there after I've got petrol and sometimes I do forget to take them out and I really don’t think that makes for a good blog post.

The bag I use nearly every day is my Fiorelli Shopper. I love this bag and it upsets me to say that it is starting to look a bit worn but until I find the next ‘The One’, I will continue to use it.

Most importantly I carry around my Iphone and this may sound geeky but I can’t remember life without it. I Love having the camera at the ready and being able to catch up with blogs on the go. I got the cute little diary from Poundland so I can quickly jot down any plans and appointments. My boyfriend is also quite forgetful and I have to remind him of things all the time so I keep his events in here too. My Purse…doesn’t really need explaining.

The most Boring thing is my contact lenses case, I always keep one with me in case I have to take my lenses out for any reason of if they start to dry up. Oh the glamour.

The beauty bits I carry round are just in case I need to re-apply or I'm going out after work and I want to hide that ‘I've been up since 6am’ look. This pretty much includes concealer, a lip product and sometimes a cheeky spritz of Caudalie Beauty Elixr. I also like to keep some Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder and some Vaseline with me at all times.

A hairbrush is always essential for my mop so this compact brush is perfect, I know it has a mirror inside but I also like to carry this No7 which I got for Christmas just because it’s pretty.

The Beauty Bloggers Tag

Hi Ladies! Today's post is the Beauty Bloggers Tag which I have been tagged in by Jasmin and Kirsty over at Beauty is Perfection

Why did you start blogging and how long have you been blogging for?

I discovered the world of beauty blogging about this time last year, but it wasn't until April that I first hit the 'publish' button. I have always had a love for everything girly, but back in April I was in a bit of a rubbish place so starting a blog seemed like a great idea to keep myself busy and I've never looked back. It was also something to try and build my confidence and I think I'm getting there. 

Whose blog did you fall in love with first?

I think it was Anna's from 'Vivianna Does Makeup', this girl could literally make me want to buy a plastic bag. I love how passionate she is about products and she just seemed very genuine. Her blog is beautifully written with great clear photos and is one that I continue to check regularly. 

What was the first blogosphere hyped about product you bought and was it worth the hype?

Liz Earle and yes.When I first discovered blogging you couldn't escape the hot cloth cleanser hype, I'd never used a cleanser like it so I was immediately sold. I love the Liz Earle skincare range, the ingredients are all natural so you know you aren't harming your skin, its not too expensive and the customer service is excellent.  I haven't got a bad word to say and would definitely recommend her line.

What are your favourite five things about blogging and being a beauty blogger?

♥  Products! It's so good being able to read other peoples thoughts about products before going out and spending my hard earned money on them. If I'm after something new you can guarantee you will find great reviews which will help push you in the right direction.

♥ The people. I know its cheesy but everyone is so friendly, I love chatting with people on twitter. A lot of my friends don't share the same cosmetics obsession as me so its great to know there is a whole community out there that who get excited about the same things I do

♥ Posting. I find it really satisfying pressing publish, even if its the smallest post I always have a sense of achievement when its done. If I get comments I get so excited that people have actually taken the time to read my posts and go to the effort of commenting, it makes me smile.

♥ Photographs. I love taking photos and editing them, I will take photos of anything from food to scenery to products, for me it's one of the most fun parts of blogging. 

♥ Purchasing! Who doesn't love shopping and buying new things?

What have you learned from being a beauty blogger?

Oh god, where to start! Well it has become very clear to me that I spend a lot more money that I should on cosmetics haha.

Have you changed anything since being a beauty blogger?

Yes, I now apply my foundation with a brush, I'm not sure how I managed to apply it with out one! And the importance of taking your make up off at night. DO IT!

What advice would you give to a beauty blogger just starting out?

Its your blog, make sure it represents you. Don't just write about a nail varnish just because everyone else is, I like to hear passion and excitement about a something don't just jump on the bandwagon for the sake of it. I also like nice big pictures but that's just my personal preference.

About Me Tag

Hey Lovelies! Isn't it cold at the minute! My car said 4 degrees this morning which is rather depressing, so  for this tag I thought I'd use this picture of me taken back in the summer as it reminds me of good times when I wasn't freezing my little toes off!

I saw this tag over on the lovely Jessica's blog and I think its a great way to find out a bit about the person behind the blog. Isn't it funny how we chat with each other everyday trust each others opinions when it comes to products, but the majority of us have never actually met? I find that actually quite amazing. I'm also a bit of a nosey parker and love reading other peoples to see their different personalities, so maybe people will be interested to read mine. Anyway lets get on with the tag, what would you like to know about me...

Are you named after anyone?

 Nope. My Real name is Charlotte and I think my parents just liked it, people started to call me Charlie at school and it's just stuck with me from there.

When was the last time you cried?
This is really sad but I watched ‘Marley and Me’ the other day, and I don’t know if I was feeling particularly emotional that day but by the end of the film the floodgates had well and truly opened!

Do you have children?

I'm not quite ready for kids, I can only just about manage to look after myself so no kiddies yet but I hope to one day.

If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?

Yes, I like to think I am a nice person and like to have fun. My friends have stuck with me for years so I can’t be that bad! I agree with the saying ‘Treat others how you would want to be treated’.

Do you use sarcasm a lot?

It depends what crowd I'm in but my friends and I use sarcasm a lot, we are always messing about and taking the mick out of each other, nothing horrible just a bit of banter (hate that word).

What's your favourite cereal?

I love cereal! I go through different phases of what I eat the most at the minute I'm loving Crunch Nut Cornflakes and Special K with those clustery bits in.

Whats the first thing you notice about people?

Erm their face I suppose? Or if I see someone from a distance, nice hair, I get mega hair envy.

What's you eye colour?
Hazel

Scary movie or happy endings?
I'm such a wimp with scary films, I prefer thrillers and films with a twist so you never know what’s going to happen next. I do love a rom com though.

Favourite smells?

I love the smell of freshly baked bread and toast in the morning, as soon as I smell toast I just have to have some. I also like the smell of my boyfriend’s shower gel haha.

Summer or Winter?

Summer, I love being outside and going on day trips, it’s always so nice to have lunch in a lovely pub garden by a lake. I do love a warm snuggly jumper in winter too you can’t beat that!

Computer or television?

I’d probably say computer as I use it more, and you can watch TV on the computer so it’s a win, win.

What's the furthest you've been away from home?
I went to Florida 2 years ago and it took 3 separate flights to get there, felt like so far away but was totally worth it.

Do you have any special talents?

I can bend my thumb back, people say that’s weird but I don’t really think I have a talent as such.

Where were you born?! 

In the Midlands and I still live here now.

What are your hobbies?
blogging, going to the gym and I quite like cooking with my boyfriend and throwing dinner parties.

Favourite movies?

I have so many, I love Taken, I think Liam Neeson is fantastic in it and I love Friends with benefits, I absolutely want to be Mila Kunis.

Why do you wear makeup?

 Hellooo you lovely lot, today I am jumping on the bandwagon of another tag: ‘Why do you wear makeup?’ When I first saw this tag I though good question! When did I go from being a fresh faced youngster to covering my face in slap every day? I suppose its part of growing up and trying to grow old gracefully.

When did you begin loving make-up? I think like most little girls I was always intrigued by makeup. I remember getting my first little make up set for Christmas and trying to copy my mum. Needless to say I ended up looking like a clown with bright blue eye shadow, red lips and ridiculously round red circles on my cheeks; thankfully I think it’s safe to say I have come a long way from those days. At school I would wear the cheapest foundation I could find and a bit of mascara. I had no idea how to properly apply foundation so you can just imagine my lovely orange face with my lily white body, no wonder I never had a boyfriend! It wasn’t until maybe two years ago that I would say my obsession started. I wanted a new foundation and decided to have a look on the internet to see what was best. Low and behold I discovered a whole community on the web of cosmetic lovers, reading review after review I couldn’t get enough of searching for and buying new products. So you might say I’m actually pretty new to the makeup world.

How do you feel without make-up? It’s actually quite scary how low my self-esteem is without it. At school I was a bit of a chunk and wore my glasses every day. Then came the time when I lost a bit of weight, got contact lenses and started to really make more of an effort with my makeup. It really is amazing how different I started being treated, people approached me more, making friends was easier even boys started to talk to me! It’s sad to say but I do think make up has a lot to do with this and when I don’t wear makeup it kind of takes me back to my ‘invisible’ days where I had no self-confidence what so ever. (Jeeez don’t I sound chirpy today, this was supposed to be a fun tag!)

What do you like about make-up? I love the way it’s so versatile. You can completely change the look of your face, you can cover up the bags under your eyes and I just think it’s quite fun experimenting. My makeup is usually quite natural but I love being able to give advice to my friends and help do theirs. And I love how it makes me feel. It such a good feeling getting ready for a night out and looking in the mirror thinking ‘yeah, I scrub up alright’ J

Three 'Holy Grail' items

♥ Collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer. A bargainous product for only £4.19 my blemishes and bags are hidden incredibly. A must for a bad skin day.

♥ Mascara. I am a mascara addict. I’m quite lucky to have long eyelashes any way but I think that it give your face a a great finish. My current favourite is Max Factor Eye Brightening mascara, this product can do no wrong for me.

♥ RealTechniques Buffing Brush. I can’t believe how long I went without this using brushes makes such a difference when trying to create a flawless look. Such a simple item with amazing results

I have seen this tag floating around the blogging world the last few weeks and have actually been horrified at some of the costs, some even go as high as £200+!
