You know spring is in the air when the pastel polishes come out! I couldn’t walk past the Barry M stand without picking these too up.

Rose Hip is a super girly pink but has a more sophisticated look to it rather than a bubble gum look. I like to wear this to work as its pretty nut not too over the top.

Sugar Apple was just a must, I’m a sucker for a mint green and this just has spring written all over it.

As much as I love these I find you need a bit of patience to apply them, with Rose Hip Especially I found the polish seemed to gather around the edge my nails but with a bit of time and two coats the end look is gorgeous.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Bobbing for Baubles & Set In Stones

So I'm not sure if its someones sole job at Essie to sit and think up cute names for nail polishes but whoever it seem to get it right every time.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star is a lovely little set that I got for Christmas which contains 2 beautiful polishes.

Bobbing for Baubles is a deep sophisticated sapphire colour, it leaves the most beautiful shine which I think looks really elegant. I love navy, its such a classic colour that's perfect for everyday wear, not too outrageous for work but still really grabs your attention.

For that added sparkle Set In Stones takes your nails from classic day time to night time glamour. I'm a big fan of glitter especially for a night out, I usually just like to do one nail to make it stand out more. As with all glitter polishes removing it is the bane of my life...maybe that's another reason I only wear it on one finger?? 

Anyway moaning aside I think this is another fabulous duo from Essie that will be seeing a lot of my nails in the near future.

Accessorize Beauty Bits

Lipstick in Infactuated* ♥ One Coat Metallic Nail Polish in Copper* ♥ Lipgloss in Shade 8*

Last year one of my most rave about products was the Accessorize Merged Baked Blush in Scandal, and I still stand by it being an absolute highstreet gem but to be honest I haven’t really explored the rest of their make up line and now I have finally got the chance I am kicking myself that experiment more before.

I know when most people think of Accessorize it’s not usually make up that springs to mine but honestly the quality is amazing and event gives the bigger highstreet brands a run for their money.

The lipgloss in shade 8 is a lovey nude colour that I find perfect for everyday. I’m not a massive fan of lipgloss but as this isn't stupidly sticky I like it.

The lipstick is on another level! I cannot get over how creamy the formula is! I have the colour Infatuation which is exactly the kind of shade I go for in the winter. The pigmentation is excellent and it doesn't dry my lips out, I can’t wait to try this in different colours.

Last but not least is the Metallic one coat nail polish in Copper. The name says it all...one coat and yes, it really only needs one coat! Usually when nail polishes say that I always find I need a second coat to be on the safe side but not with this bad boy one is more than enough. The colour is beautiful and lasts a good 2 days without chipping.

My love affair with Accessorize cosmetics is well and truly re ignited. Have you tried any of their make up?

Nails: MUA Pistachio Ice Cream

Pistachio Ice Cream

I may be the only beauty blogger that doesn't yet own the infamous Mint Candy Apple by Essie so I was super excited when I found this dupe from MUA Cosmatics called Pistachio Ice Cream.

Now as I said I don’t actually own Mint Candy Apple so I can’t compare the 2 but from swatches I’ve seen they are pretty damn similar and the bad boy only costs £1, a hell of a lot cheaper than Essie.

The colour is gorgeous, it applies with ease and it lasted a good 3 days on my nails without chipping, for £1 you can’t really ask for much more.

If you’re not a nail snob then I really recommend checking this line of polish out, I’m hoping to pick up some more colours on my next Superdrug trip.

Happy Feet

Sandals: Peacocks // Models Own Purple Mystic and Purple Haze  

Feet. Not the most attractive body part but its the summer and you've gotta get them out. I cant resist a pair of pretty sandals and I just had to show you these that I got from peacocks for only £12. I usually find Peacocks a bit hit and miss but at the moment they have some of the most gorgeous shoes I've seen.

I always like to paint my toe nails a bright colour and 9 time out of 10 I like them to be purple, this combo is my current fave and it's what I'm sporting now. I thought it would probably be weird (and a bit gross) to show you a picture of my feel so the swatches will have to do.

Nails: Top 5 Summer Polishes

Chelsea Physic Garden* ♥ Cascade Cool ♥ Bikini So Teeny ♥ Greenberry ♥ Peach Melba 

As we are now slap bag in the middle of summer I thought it was about time to reveal my top 5 summer polishes. I'm all about bright colours at the minute but I'm particularly loving pastels, it was a tough pick but these are the ones that have come out on top.

You can’t have summer shades without a colour to match the sky and Chelsea Physic Garden is definitely the one, it’s a gorgeous pastel blue and during this recent heat wave it’s perfect to brighten up your nails.

I think I talk about Cascade Cool from Essie a lot but that’s just because I love it, a lot. I'm always reaching for this candy floss pink it looks so good when you’re wearing white or monochrome I love the pop of colour it gives.

Bikini So Teeny is perhaps the most aptly named summer polish, it’s pretty much considered a sin if you don’t get this colour out at this time of year! There are tiny flecks of glitter in this which you cant really see in the swatch but if you catch it in the sunlight is very pretty.

I am crazy about Greenberry, It’s the most striking shade and the shine finish is super pretty, I just wish it didn't chip so quickly!

There was tough competition to fill this last space but as soon as I found Peach Melba I knew I was on to a winner. This shade reminds me of a sorbet or a nice cooling ice lolly,  I quite fancy a lolly now!

Barry M Gelly Shine: Blue Grape

Blue Grape

I can't tell you how much I adore this colour. To be honest I’ve been lusting after Essie’s Butler Please and Nails Inc Baker Street for a long time so when I heard Barry M had created a dupe I knew I had to have it.

Blue Grape Is a gorgeous royal blue shade, the colour is very intense and sure to attract a lot of attention!

I found the formula itself quite difficult to apply and it went very streaky after one coat however the second applied much easier and left me with the striking look I was after. It has a great shine to it but it does tend to chip very easily barely even making it to 2 days!

For £3.99 compared to Nails Inc’s £12 price tag this is an absolute steal.

Nails: Essie, Sweet Talker

Sweet Talker 

A couple of months ago from I purchase a lot of Essie polish from Fragrance Direct for the amazing price of £1.99 and some of them I just  haven’t got round to using.

 However now the sun is now starting to make an appearance Sweet Talker by Essie jumped straight to the top of my pack.

Sweet Talker is a gorgeous creamy pastel blue shade which also contains a hint of silver shimmer;. I don’t really think the photos do this colour justice, it gives of a lovely shine in the sun light.

The first coat I applied went a bit streaky but it all came together in the second coat. I must say this isn't my best nail paint job, I was in a bit of a rush when applying so I'm definitely pleased there was no streakage and it dried super quick.

Nails: Pretty In Pink

While I was trying to decide which of my favourite shades to show you this month I completely dismissed pink as an option as I didn't think I actually had that many…turns out I was wrong, I have a lot and it was such a difficult decision deciding on these 5!

First up is Essie’s Tour De finance, the brightest of the bunch with such a beautiful shine. I usually pull this baby out when I’m wearing a little black dress to give a pop of colour to my outfit.

Another Essie favourite is Cascade Cool. This is the perfect candyfloss pink it’s super girly and perfect for the summer.

I went through a face last year of wearing No7’s Milan all the time because it’s that stunning. I think the silver shimmer running through it makes it unique, I've never found another colour that comes close to this.

Don’t you love it when magazines give away great nail polishes? Well I have a magazine to thank for this beauty (I can’t remember which one). Elizabeth Street by Nails Inc is a gorgeous ’my nails but better’ colour. It’s great for French manicures or if you just want something that isn't over the top.

Gala Pink By Bad Apple cosmetics* is heading more to the coral side of pink but again it’s just a great summer colour I especially like this if I'm wearing a white outfit.

Nails: Twisted Silk

Headline Colours: Twisted Silk

What’s the best thing about your housemate signing up for a Glossybox? Borrowing her nail polish of course!

As soon as I saw this colour I knew it needed to be on my nails. Twisted Silk from Headline Colours is a very subtle chalky pink which is absolutely perfect now the sun has started to make an appearance again. I wore this for an interview as it’s not too ‘out there’ and I think it looks quite sophisticated.

I found application itself quite streaky and you definitely need at least to coats for an opaque finish, but with a bit of patience I finally achieved the desired look.

From browsing online I’ve found Headline Colours polishes retail for £9.00 each, which to be honest I think is a bit expensive especially as application for me wasn’t the smoothest. I have seen another colour from the range called Belladonna which is a striking royal blue and I may have to treat myself, you know, just so I can see how that applies in contrast haha.

Liquid Sand by OPI

Solitaire*

Textured polishes are everywhere at the moment and OPI have got the trend spot on with their liquid sand offering.

OPI Liquid Sand is a matte polish with a pebbled finish, the formula is so easy to apply and dries quickly, you can get away with just using one coat but I used to the get a fully opaque look. It’s recommended not to use a top coat with this as this can ruin the finished result, but to be honest I don’t think it really needs one the matte finish is beautiful and it lasted about 4 days without chipping!

Solitaire is a stunning diamond white with silver flecks of glitter running throughout. The colour and effect looks so sophisticated, I thinks it’s probably something that I would choose to wear to a wedding or an evening event just because it oozes class.

Nails: My Top 5 Glitter Polishes

Purple Haze ♥ Glitter Top Coat ♥ Razzle Dazzle ♥ Carnival ♥ Rose Quartz

Call me a stereotypical girl but I like everything pretty and sparkly so when it comes to my nails a bit of glitter makes me feel a bit special…like a princess.

Models Own Purple Haze is a vibrant purple that I wear on my toes quite a lot, I usually use this on top of Models own’s Purple Mystique to add a bit of extra excitement but you can achieve an opaque look with 2 or 3 coats.

The 17 Glitter Top Coat is a clear polish with fine specks of glitter. This is ideal to use over any colour to add a bit of shine and to keep your nails from chipping.

I think I wore Razzle Dazzle everyday throughout the festive season; it’s the perfect deep crimson shade and I love to pair it with Damson Dream by No7.

Carnival by Technic is filled with bright bold glitter flecks that really do give your nails the wow factor. You can pretty much use this on any colour but I like using it on pastel colours or a white as it reminds me of sweets and cupcakes.

Rose Quartz by Barry M is the perfect princess polish. I generally use this on an accent nail or on my toes if I’m wearing pretty sandals, it looks great on holiday.

As much as I love all of these I HATE removing them. Removing glitter polishes is one of the things in life I hate the most, it really makes me angry, I know that’s quite sad but it really gets my goat. I have heard though you can now buy peel off base coats which makes removing the polish easy peasey so I must look into this!

Red Carpet Queen

Fade to Grey* and Runway Top Coat*

Red Carpet Queen is a new brand for me, and what a great way to get my attention by with a unique bullet shaped bottle. I mean bottles of nail polish are usually pretty standard so it’s nice to see a little twist that definitely makes Red Carpet Queen stand out from the crowd.

Fade to Grey is a sophisticated matte grey shade which complemented my Saturday night monochrome outfit a treat. I used the Runway TopCoat to add a touch of shine and to keep my nails chip free.

The brush is big enough to cover my whole nail in one sweep and one coat gives a complete opaque finish. The wear time is great and lasted a good 3 days without chipping.

I’m actually really intrigued to try more colours from the Red Carpet Queen range and there are some gorgeous shades from nudes to bright with a glitter finish, and as a sucker for nail polish you can never have too much glitter!
