Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Bobbing for Baubles & Set In Stones

So I'm not sure if its someones sole job at Essie to sit and think up cute names for nail polishes but whoever it seem to get it right every time.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star is a lovely little set that I got for Christmas which contains 2 beautiful polishes.

Bobbing for Baubles is a deep sophisticated sapphire colour, it leaves the most beautiful shine which I think looks really elegant. I love navy, its such a classic colour that's perfect for everyday wear, not too outrageous for work but still really grabs your attention.

For that added sparkle Set In Stones takes your nails from classic day time to night time glamour. I'm a big fan of glitter especially for a night out, I usually just like to do one nail to make it stand out more. As with all glitter polishes removing it is the bane of my life...maybe that's another reason I only wear it on one finger??

Anyway moaning aside I think this is another fabulous duo from Essie that will be seeing a lot of my nails in the near future.

Whats your favourite Essie colour?

Mac Rebel Lipstick

Rebel

I can't tell you how long this has been on my wishlist for, and thanks to a little Christmas money I decided this was the perfect time to purchase. When I got to the Mac counter a quick swatch on my hand completely sold it to me.

Rebel by Mac is a gorgeous vampy plum colour, which really adds a bit of edge to an everyday look, without going a bit too 'Goth' (god I haven't used that work in years but it felt appropriate!). I used to be so scared of wearing a dark lipstick but after lots of swatching and experimenting I actually think these dark burgundy colours suit my skin tone. In fact, this lipstick is one of those that will look perfect on the majority of skintones.

This lipstick has a satin finish which I really like, it applies easily, and has great staying power, I like the fact it isn't completely matte, the satin sheen finishes it off beautifully. It's very pigmented so I tend to apply it quite gently and build on it. Rebel has quickly become my go to lipstick for a night out and will be my first choice up right up until summer.

This is only my second Mac lipstick and it has definitely left me wanting more what colours do you recommend? I'd like a cute everyday pink colour.

Whats your favourite Mac lipstick?

TwentyFourteen

My first post of 2014! Where the hell did 2013 go? I know they say as you get older the years fly by but seriously, where did it go!?

I’ve loved reading everyone’s 2013 blog posts the good and bad, and looking back at mine I can’t moan. The highlight most definitely being my holiday to Disneyland in Florida, it was so good so just get away and be a big kid, its somewhere I definitely want to go again in the future.

My career picked up and I got great job in events, not gonna lie this has been a lot of work but to feel I am actually getting somewhere is a good feeling.

Christmas was lovely, I was completely spoilt (check out the Michael Kors in the photo – that’s mine eeek!) and I managed to get a whole 2 weeks off! But that still wasn’t enough I really struggled getting back into the swing of things at work, thankfully I’m just about there and getting used to those early mornings again.

In 2014 I’d like to just focus on becoming a more positive person. I struggle with my emotions a lot and find it hard to say what I really feel so this year I think a bit of focus on myself is in order, is that selfish? Na, health and happiness that’s what I’m going for!

Right enough of this cheese fest, what are you hoping to achieve change this year?

Also while your here is there anything you would like to see more of on my blog? I’d like to do some more lifestyle posts but if you have any ideas let me know.

Mac Soft and Gentle ♥ Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm ♥ Bourjois Happy Light Primer  Origins Drink up Mask  Real Techniques Duo Fibre Face Brush

I received Mac mineralize skinfinsh in Soft and Gentle last year for Christmas and it still looks like I've barely used it! I tend to reach for highlighters a bit more in the winter months to give my complexion a bit of a boost, Soft and Gerntle is perfect because it adds just the right amount of glow without covering my face in glitter.

Once again the Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm makes an appearance on my blog. This stuff transformed my skin, I cannot rave about it enough. I recently repurchased this and the packaging is slightly different but the product is still as good as ever. Love love love.

I purchased the Bourjois Happy Light base serum when my Laura Mercier primer ran out and I have been really impressed. I love Bourjois as a brand, the Healthy Mix being one of my favourite foundations ever so  I had high hopes for this primer and it hasn't disappointed.

The Origins Drink Up Mask has been on my wishlist for so long and I'm actually kicking myself for not buying it earlier! It smells incredible and leaves my skin looking and feeling great. I use this 2-3 times a week in the evening its amazing how much brighter my skin looks in the morning. Big thumbs up!

The Real Techniques Duo Fibre face Brush is my new go to powder brush, the bristles are ridiculously soft. I use this with my Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder to create flawless finish, its like the 2 products were made for each other.

Have you tried any of these products? What are you loving at the minute?
