Haul! Primark, New Look, Asda, Glamorous

PRIMARK
Scarf £3 Shoes £10
Bag £3
Jeans £11
Tops £8
Skirt £10
ASDA Cross top £6 New Look Skull Top £12

Hello lovelies, today's post is a clothing haul! These are are a couple of my fave bits that I have acquired over the last few weeks. If you havn't already guessed I am loving the Berry/wine colour at moment, I will buy anything in that colour. Also the rocky skull and studd look is one of my faves, its just so easy to liven up an outfit.

I am off to Egypt next week so I treated myself to a new beach bag. I have been lusting over the Cath Kidston bags for a while now but this similar one from Primark for just £3 is perfect.

Last of all the LBD. Simple and classic with a stand out gold belt is perfect for any occasion.

After my holiday I really need to buy some more big snuggly jumpers and hoodies, my boyfriend is getting a bit fed up of me wearing his all the time haha.

Hopefully I will be doing some outfit posts soon.

What have you been buying lately?

Payday Wishlist

This months wishlist is pretty much dedicated to winter essentials. The weather is awful at the minute and all I want to do is curl up with a good book, cuppa tea and a big warm jumper.

I still haven't got my hands on the limited edition C+P but again I think the lavender will be so relaxing on these cold nights. I also want to buy lots of candles to make my room all cosy.

What's on your wishlist this month?

Nails: Razzle Dazzle Dream

Damson Dream and Razzle Dazzle

Ok it is now autumn, I have been trying to keep the summer dream alive but it is time I admit defeat. So here are my first autumn nails. I picked up Damson Dream by No7 after searching for a gorgeous deep red colour, it wasn’t until I got home that my house mate told me she thought I already had a very similar glittery colour. She was right! How could I forget ‘Razzle Dazzle’ by Deborah Lippman which I got in a Glossy Box. So instead of layering on coats on the glitter polish I used Damson dream as a base with Razzle dazzle on top, perfect. I do feel my nails look rather Christmassy now so this combo will definitely be making an appearance this Christmas.

What do you think?

Damson Dream is available at Boots for £7.

Charlie's Diary #9

Nails ♥ Brush Storage ♥ PIZZA ♥ Red Red Wine ♥ Gold Medalist ♥ Revs ♥ New Shes ♥ Olympics ♥ Katsu Curry

A quick post on what I have been up to lately. I went to the Paralympics to watch the athletics which was incredible. The week after I went shopping in Nottingham with the girls and saw Richard Whitehead who I had seen run! He thanked me for my support eeek, Of course a shopping trip is not complete without a cheeky class of vino. I have also been writing a lot of blog posts and eating stuff that isn't good for me. I wouldn't mind so much except I have to fit into a bikini next week! Bring on EGYPT!

Sleek Rose Gold Blush

Sleek  Rose Gold Blush £4.49

Last weekend I picked up my first ever Sleek Blush, the shade I chose was the infamous ‘Rose Gold’.

A product well hyped in the blog world and I can see why, this is a gorgeous pinky coral shade with gold shimmers. I usually wear more pink shades but the shimmer in this colour drew me in. It shows up very coral on my skin and I think it’s a great summer blush, I know it’s autumn now but I’m off on holiday again next week and this will do a fabulous job of highlighting my cheeks.

It is very shimmery so you don’t need to apply much product, if you’re not a fan of the shimmery look this might now be for you.

I love how simple and ‘Sleek’ the packaging is and I know 8g will last me a long time.

Overall I am very impressed with this blush, it retails at £4.49 which is a complete bargain and is available from the Sleek Website and Superdrug.

Have you tried any Sleek Blushes? What do you think of Rose Gold?

Nails: Celestial

Topshop  Celestial £5

Now as a blogger this may come as a bit of a shock...This is my first ever Topshop Nail Polish. I know' I know, where I have I been!

Well I have been on the look out for a gorgeous blue colour for a while now, I own quite a lot of dark/navy colours but not one that really stands out.

I saw Celestial on Miss Jayne Becca's Blog last week and I knew this was the one. A striking Sky blue colour that really cannot be missed, I have already had 3 compliments on it this morning which is always nice.

Celestial is my first Topshop Nail Polish and definitely won't be my last!

What do you think of Topshop nail polish and what should be my next colour?

My New Make Up Brush Storage

I love seeing pictures of peoples dressing tables, they can look so pretty so this is the start of me reorganising my dressing table and make up storage.

I found this gorgeous butterfly make up brush holder in...wait for it...Dunelm! Of all places! I don't usually venture into Dunelm but on a recent trip to town I went in with my mum while she had a look at house hold goods.

I found this little beaut in the bathroom section, its supposed to be a tumbler but I think its absolutely perfect so store my brushes in. They had a couple of different ranges, I was torn between this one and a turquoise green one with a pearl heart on it but I chose this one as I think it will go with any colour which I decide to decorate my bedroom. Thinking about it now this one will probably need a lot more cleaning with fingerprints etc as its mirrored but I don't mind as the prettiness is worth it. And I love butteflies so thats a win in my books.

Now I just need to sort out the rest of my dressing table and make it look just as lovely.

You can pick this 'Brush Holder' up from Dunelm for £5.99.

What do use to store your brushes?

If you have any ideas for my makeup storage as well that would be much appreciated.

Clash of the Hot Cloth Cleansers

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish VS Superdrug Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser

Ahh the hot cloth cleanser, I know pretty much every blogger and their dog have heard of them. In fact the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish (£14.25 100ml) was one of the first things that caught my eye when I discovered blog land, so many amazing reviews, I was sold. Like the majority of beauty bloggers I am well and truly on the Liz Earle bandwagon. From the moment I unwrapped it from its beautiful packaging I knew it was love.

It has naturally active ingredients which include eucalyptus and cocoa butter for smoother, cleaner skin. I love the fact it’s all natural and I know I’m not putting anything harsh on my skin. I also really love the smell. It really smells like its doing a good job if that makes sense? Like my skin is getting a good clean after a hard days work. This removes every scrap of make up and I can go to sleep knowing my skin is fresh and clean.

So why bother with any other product? Being the working girl that I am, I have bills to pay I have food to buy and the odd social blow out to attend and sometimes these much loved products have to be sacrificed in order for me to survive.

Will a high street cleanser live up to the award winning Cleanse and Polish?

I picked up the Superdrug Vitamin E when it was on offer for the bargainous price of £2.99 which also included a muslin cloth (it’s usually about £5.99). It comes in a 200ml tube which is great because it will last me forever. The smell reminds me of cocoa butter and the product feels soft on my skin. Afterwards  it leaves my skin clean and moisturised but it doesn’t leave me with that fresh, my skin is squeaky clean feeling. It does however still do a great job of removing my make up.

Which do I prefer? I have to say my favourite is still the reigning champ Liz Earle, there’s just something about it that just makes it that bit better than Vitamin E, it just has that ‘X Factor’ (cringe, I know but I’m not sure how else to explain it).

However as times are hard I will continue to purchase the Vitamin E Cleanser as its under half the price and does a pretty damn good job!

Can I also just add that I am really excited to try the Limited edition Rose and LavenderHot cloth Cleanser eeeeeek! Roll on pay day.

Have you tried either of these? Have you found anything better? I would love to know!

My Every Day Foundation

Revlon Colorstay Foundation - Combination/Oily
180 Sand Beige

I have been using this foundation for about a year now and thought it’s about time I confessed my love for it. I have combination skin, the majority of my skin I would class as normal but the area around my nose and chin is quite oily so finding a good foundation can be quite tricky. I can’t stand it when I look in the mirror around lunch time and think ‘Why did I bother?’ because it’s all slipped off.
Thank goodness for REVLON COLORSTAY Foundation.

The first thing that attracted me to this foundation is the fact is designed for combination / oily skin; it was the first brand that I noticed that had actually tailored their make up for different skin types.

The product comes is a sleek 30ml glass bottle, it unfortunately doesn’t have a pump so I tend to dip in a cotton bud and dab it on my face, then I use my Real Techniques Buffing Brush to give a Flawless finish. It does sink in to the skin quite quickly so I tend to apply it in sections; I start at my nose where I need the most coverage and then work my way outwards.

This foundation has mega staying power. I put this on in the morning at about 7.30 and by 17.00 at the end of work my face still looks fresh. The only time I ever need to add a touch up is at times when my chin has a couple more blemishes than usual but other than that I am very happy with the result and the way it makes my skin look.

This foundation retails at £12.49 which I am happy to pay, and can be found in Boots and Superdrug.

Have you tried Revlon Colorstay? What’s your current everyday foundation?

My Day at the Paralympics!

Its Monday morning and I'm shattered. I’ve had the best weekend, not only was the weather fabulous, me and my boyfriend travelled down to London to see the Paralympics. My boyfriend is originally from London so it was also a good excuse to go down and see his family.

There has been so much hype around the Olympics and I for one have been caught up in the excitement so actually being able to go I was like a child at Christmas.

The whole thing has been so well organised, when we arrived it was like an airport check in having to put your bags through a scanner and walking through the detectors. Once inside you can see the stadium in all its glory surrounded by lots of different food and drink outlets as well as merchandise stores. As it was a hot day I did indulge in a cheeky cider or too along with a couple of ice creams and a cheese and jalapeno pretzel (yum).

The stadium and the atmosphere was amazing, everyone was in such high spirits. The cheers were especially loud when a member of Team GB was competing. We also say Oscar Pistorias who won his race by miles!

Overall the day was fantastic and I'm so glad I got to go down and be a part of it.

Of course I can’t finish off the weekend without some yummy food pics. My boyfriend has banged on and on about this restaurant that do delicious steaks and I have to say he was right. Steak with pepper sauce with jenga chips, mushrooms and water cress followed by a white chocolate brulee to die for!

So that’s the roundup of my weekend, did you get chance to go to the Olympics?

Hope you had a good weekend.
