Mac Soft and Gentle ♥ Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm ♥ Bourjois Happy Light Primer  Origins Drink up Mask  Real Techniques Duo Fibre Face Brush

I received Mac mineralize skinfinsh in Soft and Gentle last year for Christmas and it still looks like I've barely used it! I tend to reach for highlighters a bit more in the winter months to give my complexion a bit of a boost, Soft and Gerntle is perfect because it adds just the right amount of glow without covering my face in glitter.

Once again the Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm makes an appearance on my blog. This stuff transformed my skin, I cannot rave about it enough. I recently repurchased this and the packaging is slightly different but the product is still as good as ever. Love love love.

I purchased the Bourjois Happy Light base serum when my Laura Mercier primer ran out and I have been really impressed. I love Bourjois as a brand, the Healthy Mix being one of my favourite foundations ever so  I had high hopes for this primer and it hasn't disappointed.

The Origins Drink Up Mask has been on my wishlist for so long and I'm actually kicking myself for not buying it earlier! It smells incredible and leaves my skin looking and feeling great. I use this 2-3 times a week in the evening its amazing how much brighter my skin looks in the morning. Big thumbs up!

The Real Techniques Duo Fibre face Brush is my new go to powder brush, the bristles are ridiculously soft. I use this with my Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder to create flawless finish, its like the 2 products were made for each other.

Have you tried any of these products? What are you loving at the minute?

Missing In Action

Remember me? O yes I'm the owner of this blog. I guess I just wanted to write this little post to reconnect with my blog as I haven't posted since the beginning of the month, but never fear I'm still alive but unfortunately blogging has not been at the top of my to do list.

I have had such a busy month, work has pretty much taken over my life at the moment, working ridiculous hours and then just being completely exhausted. I am loving my job but as I work in events organising Christmas parties is taking up all of my time and energy, I don't wanna moan but sometimes a girl just needs a lie in!

I've also been into hospital a few times over the past few weeks. I won't go into detail but even just going to to hospital takes it out of you, I feel a bit emotionally drained. I have another appointment on Tuesday and I'm hoping it will be the last for a while.

Any way those are the main reasons for my lack of blogging but I do finally have a couple of posts lined up, I've been bulk photographing this weekend while there is actually some good light so they should be up this week!

My fitness journey is going ok, I've not been able to gym for a while because of the doctors orders so I have really been focusing on eating clean. I'm tempted to do some food diary / recipe posts to help try and keep me motivated. Although today has been a right off, Sunday roast followed by chocolate brownie! a very much needed cheat day.

The photo above was taken in Florida, when I saw it it made me smile. I wish it was warm and I had clear skin again! Stress has done nothing for my complexion. Saying that I absolutely love curling up in my pj's with a cup of tea when its cold outside, that's what winter is all about!

What have you been up to lately? How do you fit blogging around your working life?

You Tube Inspired Every Day Make Up

It’s not often I get a night in by myself but when I do I like to make sure I have my pyjamas, cup of tea and laptop to hand. By the end of the night I usually end up with a wishlist as long as my arm and wondering why pay day is still so far away.

Lately though I have been logging onto my laptop and watching countless You Tube videos, especially ‘Get ready with me’ videos. As much as I love make up and have quite a vast selection I still consider myself a bit of a novice when it comes to applying the stuff, eye make up is still my weakness, one day I will perfect the smokey eye!

Below I have added a couple of links to the videos that have really helped me learn how to sort out my hair and make up properly.

After watching this the Naked Basics pallet has gone straight to the top of my wishlist!

Barbara has such great cheek bones and has contouring down to a tee, this is another thing I really need to work on!

I love that Meg uses both high street and high end products,I'm sure 99% of bloggers and beauty you tubers own the Collection lasting perfection concealer, its amazing.

So here is my attempt!
Face: Dr Jart water fuse BB Cream. Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, Rimmel Stay matte pressed Powder
Eyes: Benefit World Famous Neutrals Palette, Dainty Doll Eyeliner. L'oreal Telescopic Mascara
Lips: Maybelline Baby lips in Punch Pink
Hair: Enrapture Totem Styler Setting 1-1-1.

What do you think? What You Tubers inspire your look?

Back to the Old School

Something’s just take you back to your childhood and for me a Casio watch is one of those things. Maybe I’m showing my age, but I remember them being all the rage at school so when I received his watch from The Watch Hut it really took me back!

The style is very retro, it’s got a bit of a geek chic look about it and I love the contrast of the burgundy with the silver steel strap the colours are perfect for autumn and winter.

The time is very easy to set, I had to remember to do this when the clocks changed! It did give me a fright when the alarm went off in the middle of the night which I didn't realise I had set. I don’t remember the last time I owned a watch with an alarm but I've mastered it now and it comes in very handy when I snooze my phone alarms!

I've not tested whether it is actually water resistant but as I had a Casio watch as a child which I must have put through its paces I’m willing to trust they are still as good.

What do you think? Can you remember these watches from your youth or do you just like the vintage style. You can find lots more lovely watches from The Watch Hut here.

And I've Given In To The Hype...Again

It always happens; you see so many rave reviews about a product that you have to have it in your life. My spending ban was going so well but this weekend just gone I felt like I needed a little pick me up so a trip to Boots happened.

I've been so busy at work recently that the whole Bourjois Happy Light hype had managed to get passed me it wasn't until I saw a picture of the new range on Instagram that it really grabbed my attention. I was so happy that in the little Boots where I live stocked the primers so I opted for the Luminous Serum Primer to give my skin a little pick me up and I have to say so far so good! It keeps my made up in place and gives my skin a nice glow and at the moment its only £6.99 so it would have just been rude not too.

The Maybelline Baby Lips hype really did not excite me. To me they just seemed like a lip balm with bright tacky packaging. However after seeing swatches over on Pearls and Poodles I was a bit more intrigued. So I finally caved and o my goodness I wish I had bought them earlier! The colours are gorgeous and it really does leave my lips super soft, it does need reapplying throughout the day but for £2.99 that’s to be expected and to be honest I enjoy reapplying it, they taste nice too!

The Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer is actually a repurchase, I can’t remember how long ago it was when I gave into this hype but I haven’t tried any other concealer since. It’s amazing at covering blemishes and lasts all day. I won’t harp on too much about this as I'm sure you have all seen countless reviews but seriously if you haven’t tried this…why not?!

What have you been buying lately? Do you give into blogger hype easily?

My Winter Wishlist

1.2.3.4.5.6.7.8.9

Can you tell what my favourite colour is right now? Haha. Don’t get me wrong I’m all about hot weather and sunny beaches but there is just something so cosy about winter time, I love layering up and having a drink by an open fire place, it’s so relaxing.

So this wish list contains my winter must haves, there’s still a week until payday but there’s always time for a browse. The hat from Equestrian Clearance is so cute with its little bow and will do a fabulous job of keeping my ears warm. I have been looking for the perfect satchel for a while and I think this little Topshop baby might just be the one. I would wear jumpers and cardigans all year round if I could, mix them with a pretty floral print and I’m in heaven so the cardigan from New Look is like it has been made for me! The make up speaks for itself...just look at that Nars Palette!!

Do any of my picks take your fancy? What’s on your winter wishlist?

Nars Deep Throat

Nars Deep Throat

Yes it’s called Deep Throat and yes I am that immature that it makes me giggle. No matter how funny the name this blush is top notch.

My sister bought me this for my birthday (thank you) back in July and I’m pretty sure it’s been on my cheeks every day since.  Deep Throat is a gorgeous warm peach shade that leaves you with a natural healthy looking glow. The shade itself is quite similar to Orgasm but without the shimmer making it perfect for an everyday look, it also builds really well so ideal if you wanted to make it a bit more dramatic for an evening.

As with all Nars blushes it’s super sort and applies easily I usually only need one sweep for my desired look and it lasts for the majority of my working day.

If you are thinking about getting your first Nars Blush then Deep throat is the one I would recommend.

What’s your favourite Nars blush?

Accessorize Beauty Bits

Lipstick in Infactuated*  One Coat Metallic Nail Polish in Copper*  Lipgloss in Shade 8*

Last year one of my most rave about products was the Accessorize Merged Baked Blush in Scandal, and I still stand by it being an absolute highstreet gem but to be honest I haven’t really explored the rest of their make up line and now I have finally got the chance I am kicking myself that experiment more before.

I know when most people think of Accessorize it’s not usually make up that springs to mine but honestly the quality is amazing and event gives the bigger highstreet brands a run for their money.

The lipgloss in shade 8 is a lovey nude colour that I find perfect for everyday. I’m not a massive fan of lipgloss but as this isn't stupidly sticky I like it.

The lipstick is on another level! I cannot get over how creamy the formula is! I have the colour Infatuation which is exactly the kind of shade I go for in the winter. The pigmentation is excellent and it doesn't dry my lips out, I can’t wait to try this in different colours.

Last but not least is the Metallic one coat nail polish in Copper. The name says it all...one coat and yes, it really only needs one coat! Usually when nail polishes say that I always find I need a second coat to be on the safe side but not with this bad boy one is more than enough. The colour is beautiful and lasts a good 2 days without chipping.

My love affair with Accessorize cosmetics is well and truly re ignited. Have you tried any of their make up?
Right my tea is going cold and I have posts to write. Ciao.

Home, Sweet Home

You know when you just have one of those weeks when works crazy, life's crazy and all you want to do is take a second and breathe? That is me every week at the minute. Don't get me wrong I am loving my new job and I've had some fab trips and nights out with my friends but I just need a rest! God I sound old haha.

Anyway tonight I finally have a bit of time to myself and i'm so happy to be reunited with my own bed you just cant beat it! I thought tonight would be the perfect time to give you a sneak peak of my 'blogging office'. I should add it's not always this tidy!

My bed covers are from Asda and my super cute jars and heart light and from B&M. B&M is literally the best place for home wear, if you like hearts and pretty stuff you need to get down there asap!

Right my tea is going cold and I have posts to write. Ciao.

Marc Jacobs Dot

Marc Jacobs Dot

Its times like this I really wish blogs has a scratch and sniff facility, I just want you to be able to smell this!

Dot by Marc Jacobs is the perfume I have been wearing every day since my holiday and I just love everything about it.

I first got a whiff of this in Boots while I was perusing the perfume counters and I just couldn’t ignore this packaging. Red is always striking and the lady bird esque –ness just makes it stand out that bit more.

I was so happy to find the scent reflects the packaging. The scent is sweet and fruity but not overpowering, I like the fact it’s very wearable for any occasion as I like to wear it as much as possible. Again I wish I could just get you to smell this!

I also love that it looks ridiculously cute on my dressing table.

What’s your current favourite perfume?

MAC Hue Lipsitck

This post has been a long time coming, yes this is...my first ever Mac Lipstick! I know, I know call myself a beauty blogger but at least I now have one.

To be honest I had no idea what I was looking for formula wise I just wanted a nice every day colour for work and I ended up picking the gorgeous Hue.

Hue is a subtle pinky nude shade, kind of like a’ Your lips but better’, I think in the photo it doesn't really look like I’m even wearing any (I am, I swear) which can be a good thing if you’re planning to wear it for every day occasions. The formula is really creamy and doesn't dry my lips out.

I did find the staying power wasn't as great as I expected but I assume that’s because of the Glaze finish.
Nevertheless I love applying this and I think I have definitely caught the Mac Lipstick bug, Snob and Rebel are next on my hit list!

What was your first Mac Lipstick? Which would you recommend?

Nars Deep Throat Blush ♥ Origins Ginzing Eye Cream ♥ Maybelline Color Tattoo On and On Bronze ♥ Benefit Total Moisture ♥ Rimmel Kate 107 Lipstick ♥ Real Techniques Blush Brush

Deep Throat by Nars has to be one of the most beautiful blushes I own, it's a gorgeous warm coral colour with a very subtle of shimmer, its a bit more wearable for every day then the infamous Orgasm. This has been my go to every day blush for about 2 months now and I cant see it being replaces anytime soon.

The Real Techniques Blush Brush goes hand in hand with Deep Throat, it's like they were meant to be! The brush is so soft and applies the blush effortlessly, you really cant go wrong with real techniques.

Just as I ran out of moisturuser I received this little pot from Benefit for my birthday and I have to say i'm impressed. I've no had much luck with Benefit makeup but the skin care has been much better. this moisturiser leaves my skin so soft, I like to use it before bed.

No eye cream had really knocked my socks of until I tried this bad boy. The Origins Ginzing Eye cream is fabulous and just make you look do much more awake in the mornings, I couldn't be without this now.

The next to products are one's I've fallen back in love with. On and On bronze is stunning and so good at keeping your eye shadow in place. The name Colour Tattoo couldn't be more perfect as this stuff just doesn't budge!

Last is my trustly Rimmel Kate 107 lipstick, a real blogger fave and rightly so. The colour is so striking and it stays on my lips for hours, I'm quite lazy when it comes to topping up lipstick so when they have amazing staying power I know I have a winner.

What products are you loving at the moment?

Overnight Oats!

I am such an Instagram stalker these days, it has possibly become my favourite social networking site and I particularly love looking at food, yep that's the fatty in my trying to rear her ugly head. Lucky for me there are lots of accounts that are all about health and clean eating and something that regularly pops up are ‘Overnight Oats’. Probably the easiest thing to make ever it maybe shouldn't be called a recipe but i thought i would give you an insight in to my new favourite breakfast anyway.
You will need:

125ml Milk, I use unsweetend almond milk
2 large tbsp Greek Yoghurt
40g Oats
The Topping of your choice

Step one:
Add all the ingredients apart from your topping into a bowl.
Step 2:
Mix

Step 3:
Pour into an air tight Container and pop into the fridge.

Step 4:
Sleep

Step 5:
Wake up and add your desired topping to your oats (today I opted for banana and chocolate protein powder) and EAT.

It couldn't be any easier! And you have no excuse to miss breakfast.

I love to add blueberries to mine, and sometimes some sugar free jam or peanut butter or a bit of chocolate protein powder the options are endless.

So there we go quick, healthy, tasty breakfast. What did you have for breakfast today?
