Outfit: Cute little Elephants

So the weather here in the UK is finally starting to pick up and last week my friend hosted a little get together over the bank holiday. This was the perfect opportunity to whip off the jeans that my legs have been hiding under for the last 10 months or so and show them a bit of sunlight.

I know I’m going to sound like a New Look ambassador here, but honestly just by coincidence it is where my whole outfit if from.

I fell in love with this little skirt as soon as I saw it; I am loving elephant ‘trend’ at the minute. I usually get sucked into whatever animal print is popular, over winter I had so many little things with owls on!

I would have usually opted for a black or white top to complete the monochrome look but as it was a nice day I thought this coral t shirt would be much more appropriate.

I used my trusty Enrapture Totem Styler to create these soft waves using setting 1-1-1 which gives you soft waves suitable for the beach without looking too done.

What do you think? Have you braved going bare legged this year yet?

Back to the Old School

Something’s just take you back to your childhood and for me a Casio watch is one of those things. Maybe I’m showing my age, but I remember them being all the rage at school so when I received his watch from The Watch Hut it really took me back!

The style is very retro, it’s got a bit of a geek chic look about it and I love the contrast of the burgundy with the silver steel strap the colours are perfect for autumn and winter.

The time is very easy to set, I had to remember to do this when the clocks changed! It did give me a fright when the alarm went off in the middle of the night which I didn't realise I had set. I don’t remember the last time I owned a watch with an alarm but I've mastered it now and it comes in very handy when I snooze my phone alarms!

I've not tested whether it is actually water resistant but as I had a Casio watch as a child which I must have put through its paces I’m willing to trust they are still as good.

What do you think? Can you remember these watches from your youth or do you just like the vintage style. You can find lots more lovely watches from The Watch Hut here.

White Lace

Top: Choies* Jeans: New Look Shoes: New Look: Scarf: Asos

Show me something pretty and girly and I’m all over it but I love to try and add a bit of edge to an outfit so it’s not so sweet and innocent.

My jumper from Choies is so beautiful and so soft! Do you ever have clothes that you just love to touch, is that weird? Well sometimes I can’t help it and you know you have something that’s good quality when you stroke it all the time haha.

The lace detailing on the arm is super pretty, the first time I wore this people were literally throwing compliments at me and for someone that is as self conscious as me it was really up lifting.
I added a red scarf to give my outfit that extra pop.

I think the little furry photo bomber is a fan of this outfit, what do you think?

Miss Monochrome

Jacket: Choies* Cami: New Look Jeans: New Look Boots: New Look Bag: Zara Necklace: Dorothey Perkins

Friday night was date night, and I always like to make an effort when we get a rare night out together but now the weather is starting to get colder it’s getting a bit harder to find that perfect balance between style and warmth.

I am in love with this jacket from Choies it adds a bit of sophistication and doesn't leave me worrying that I will get cold during the night. I’m also such a sucker for monochrome; black and white is flattering on the majority of people as its simple and classy.

I opted to pair my jacket with a plain cami, skinny jeans, boots (and a cheeky glass of red!) perfect date night material.

You like? Winter doesn't seem so bad when you can make it as stylish as this!

Outfit Post: Loving the Trousers

Top: New Look Trousers: New Look Necklace: Dorothy Perkins Bag: Primark

These trousers are a big fashion leap for me, I'm always a bit self conscious when it comes to my outfits but trousers have really grabbed my attention after seeing them in so may lovely outfit posts.

These bad boys were only £8 in the New Look sale so I just couldn't turn them down. They are so versatile and look great for day time and also in the evenings. I teamed them with a peplum top and statement necklace for a meal out and considering they are not really 'me' I really love them and plan on buying a few more styles.

What do you think? Are you into the patterned trousers look?

Outfit Post: Owl Collar Playsuit

Playsuit: Ax Paris ♥ Clutch : Select

I couldn’t not show you this playsuit; I love clothes with animals on at the minute so this Owl playsuit from AX Paris was right up my street.

Black is always slimming and I think the cut on this is really flattering as it slightly flares out at the waist, it’s also quite silky material and not clingy at all. It has a pretty black peter pan collar, which mixed with the owl print just makes it a super cute outfit. I wore this with black tights as it’s freezing at the moment but it would also look great with bear legs. I finished the look with my black studded bag from Select and a black leather jacket and heels to add a bit of edge.

The Owl playsuit is currently on sale at AX Paris for the bargainous price of £14.99.

Are you a fan of animal patterns?

Saturday night was my Christmas party but no glamorous dressing up for me oh no, our theme was Christmas Jumpers! Don't even get me started on my Christmas jumper it was so hard to find! Usually I see them everywhere and so many people said the best ones were in Primark but I had no luck. I'm not sure whether I had just left it to the last minute but I was in such a grump when I couldn't find one.
I came across this penguin jumper in a cheap shop called Storm for about £12 so I snapped it up and luckily nobody else had the same one! I teamed this with a black bodycon skirt, black tights, shoe boots and black studded bag from Select.

With my make up I decided to go with a bold lip, I love this MUA lispstick and it's so perfect for Christmas  I think it went really well with my jumper. The L'oreal Volume Million Lashes Luminizer mascara for Hazel Eyes is my absolute fave for a night out, it's the absolute best mascara for giving length and dramatic volume. For My Hair I created loose curls with my GHD Straighteners.

A lot of wine was consumed and I danced like I thought I was a professional. My feet were killing me by the end of the night and just thinking about my headache the next morning is making me want to cry. Oh well, 'tis the season and all that.

Have you had your Christmas party yet?

I finished my present wrapping last night yay! I'm usually pretty awful at wrapping but because most of them were box shaped I actually don't think they look that bad. Only 3 days of work left bring it on. Have you finished your shopping/wrapping?

I put some new shoes on and suddenly everything's right

Studded Strap Ankle Boots

Ooooo new shoes! Well, boots but I am in love with them. I have been after a new pair of boots for a while and I purchased these beauties from New Look while they were running their 25% off offer, it would be rude not to, right?

A classic black with a studded strap, I'm a bit stud obsessed at the moment; I love to give a girly outfit a bit of a rock edge. The small heel makes them great for everyday wear and I think these will be perfect to wear with jeans or a dress with black tights. As well as looking good they are also very comfortable, so they will be seeing a lot of my feet throughout these cold months.

These boots retail for £27.99 but I picked them up for the very purse friendly price of £20.99.

How was your weekend? I finally made a dent in the old Christmas shopping and picked up a few lovely bits for myself in Primark so I consider that a successful trip. Does anyone want to wrap my presents for me? I think a two year old can do a better job than I can!
