Liz Earle Eye Bright

Show me a product to make my eyes look less tired and bright and I will snap it up.

The Liz Earle Eyebright is designed to wake up and revitalise eyes. It works by soaking two cotton pads and placing them over your eyes for 5 – 10 minutes to help cool refresh and de puff tired looking eyes.

I like to use this as a weekend treat while I’m enjoying a lie in as I don’t really have time during the week. It’s also great if you’re having a pamper session.

The formula is non-greasy and suitable for us contact lens wearers which is always a plus in my book, although I don’t wear my contact lenses while using this…

While I like to use this as a little treat on a Saturday morning, unfortunately I don’t class it as an essential; it doesn’t blow my mind it’s just a ‘nice’ product to have.

You can purchase Eyebright from the Liz Earle website for £10.75 (150ml).

What do you use to wake your eyes up?

Make Believe Wash Off Self Tan

As soon as the sun comes out the skin comes out. Last weekend we were finally lucky enough to get some nice weather and while I am ridiculously under prepared with my summer wardrobe I was completely ready to get my legs out.

The Little White Lie Wash off self-tan from Make Believe is designed to give you an instant deep and natural looking tan, perfect if you have been hiding your legs away under black tights all winter like myself.

You apply the lotion using a tanning mitt which helps create an even coverage with no streaks or patches. The lotion is a very dark brown colour so it’s very easy to see where you have already been and parts you may have missed. It dries so quickly so there’s no waiting around trying not to touch anything that may rub it off.

It took literally a minute to cover my whole leg so this is perfect if you’re going on a night out or if donning a pair of shorts on a shopping trip. As I am quite pale and can be prone to orangeness or the ‘umpa lumpa’ look so I only used a small amount so it looks natural and then built up the colour where needed but to be honest one coat was enough for me.

The part I liked most about the Little White Lie is the scent as it smells nothing like a usual fake tan. It reminded me of my shower gel which is great because then your glow won’t be given away buy the smell.
All you then need to do is wash it of in the shower with soap and water, easy peasy.

Overall I’m really impressed with this tan and can’t wait until the summer really arrives so I can wear shorts and pretty dresses without my ghostly pale legs making me feel self-conscious.

The Make Believe Little White Lie is available at The Hut for £10.

What do you think? Will you be faking the bronzed goddess look this summer?

The Little Things...

Flowers are so good at brightening my mood and at the moment tulips are my favourite, these lilac coloured ones are gorgeous .
I bit the bullet and uploaded an outfit post, I'm not sure why posting outfits makes me so anxious but I'm please with it and hopefully there will be a lot more to come.
Salmon and Eggs is my favourite way to start the day
How amazing is the owl cake! It was my house mate’s birthday and her colleague made this! The effort went in is unbelievable, we haven’t had the heart to eat them yet but the main cake was delicious.
Fairy lights make everything better and my heart light makes my room so relaxing at night.
I'm still loving my enrapture totem styler, I've been using setting 1-1-1 to create loose waves.
And last but not least please take a second to observe my boyfriend’s fantastic cooking, he really pulled this out the bag and I can’t tell you how good it was! Only problem now is I want dinner made for me every night at this standard haha, he did good.

What little things have been making you happy? I get paid on Friday and that REALLY makes me happy!

Outfit Post: Tie Dye & Studs

Dress: Missguided Belt and Boots: New Look Bag: Select

A birthday party is always an excuse for a new dress and after browsing through countless websites, I knew I’d hit the jackpot when I stumbled across this beaut from Missguided.

Prints seem to be everywhere at the moment and I love the tie dye effect on this dress.  The turn up sleeves make it more casual so it’s also a great dress to wear in the day time and the skater skirt is really flattering. The best part about it is that it’s only £14.99 which I think is an absolute bargain considering how nice and soft it feels

I gave it a bit more edge with a studded belt and clutch and a biker jacket, as let’s face it it’s still not warm enough out there for bare arms!

The night out itself included one too many jager bombs (I still don’t know why I do these) and a very sore head in the morning, well it’s a birthday you've got to go hard haven’t you!?

I can't believe it's Monday morning already, the weekend will never be long enough but a least the sun is starting to make an appearance! How was your weekend?

Charlie Says...

 photo rimmel2_zps17e61445.jpg
Face: Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation. Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer. Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder.
Eyes: Elf Eyebrow Kit Dark. Lord and Berry Smudge proof Eyeliner*. L'oreal Volume Million Luminizer Mascara.
Lips: Revlon lip Butter, Cotton Candy.

Say Cheese! This is the make-up that I have been rocking most days this month, quite subtle and best of all, all the products are affordable. My Wake Me Up foundation is just about to run out and I can’t decide whether to repurchase straight away or go back to Bourjois Healthy Mix now it has a pretty new glass bottle.

April has been a busy month for me, starting with my Mum's birthday, then 3 of my best friends have their birthdays all in the same week, my bank balance has definitely taken a battering but it’s all good fun. I think I will need to go into hibernation in May and start saving some money for my holiday.

I've started to take photos of my outfits to put on my blog but I've been feeling really self-conscious about uploading them. I'm not really happy with how my body looks at the minute so I just feel like I’m not doing the clothes justice and I can’t get the perfect photo. Note to self, stop snacking on cheese!

My eyebrows are getting a bit out of control at the moment but I just haven’t had the chance to get them done and I'm not very good at plucking them myself. But if I say I'm going for the Cara look then it’s totally acceptable right?

I'm off out for my friend’s birthday tonight and I’m wearing a fabulous Motel playsuit I picked up in the sale, It’s bright and summery and I can’t wait to wear it more now the weather is starting to pick up!

Nars Eye Duo In Isolde

Can you believe I picked this beaut up in a blog sale? Oh yes! This is my first experience with Nars eye shadows, I'm always lusting after these but unfortunately for me I can never usually justify the £25 price tag, call me tight but I usually have to be pretty boring and prioritise my spending.

When I wear eye shadows I do tend to stick with neutrals and gold’s so Isolde is right up my street. The pigmentation of these shadows is amazing, they are slightly more orange than I was hoping but so I've been using thye paler shade on its own in the day time and if I'm going out in the evening I try to create a smokey look by using the light colour all over the lid and then the darker colour in my crease.

The shadows are so silky and easy to apply, I tend to use mine with an eye shadow primer but to be honest you really don’t need one as the staying power is great.

I love the fact there is a mirror inside the compact for convenience, the only part of the packaging that I'm not thrilled with is the material that it’s made with; it gets so dirty so easy! This is also the case with my Nars blushes.

Apart from that I'm very impressed with Isolde and I can definitely see why it has the hefty price tag. I’d really like to try a more neutral colour too so I need to start doing some research and either get saving or put them on my birthday list!

Isolde, you have a safe place in my make-up bag.

What do you think of Nars Eyeshadows?

L'oreal Volume Million Luminizer

Do you ever a reach for a product so much that you actually start to take it a bit for granted? Well that’s what I did with product. As I was using this the other night I realised I haven’t really highlighted my love for this on my blog enough so here is its moment to shine.

The Volume Million Luminizer for Hazel Eyes is my ultimate favourite mascara for a night out. I have repurchased this countless times and I still have no desire to search for an alternative.

The number 1 thing I love about this mascara is the brush; it is actually a proper brush and grabs each of my lashes creating lovely length and volume without it looking clumpy or spider lash like.

The colour on the want terrified me at first glance but as you can see from the photos it doesn't really translate on to my lashes like that. The purple colour is specifically designed to enhance the look of Hazel eyes, I'm not really sure that my eyes do look enhanced but this is easily forgiven as the end result of my lashes is second to none.

This Mascara retails at £10.99 which is creeping up towards the higher end for a high street mascara but to be honest I think the picture of my lashes speak for themselves.

What do you think? Do you have a specific ‘go to’ evening mascara?

I Heart...Rimmel

The Rimmel Face

Today I am focusing on the high street make up Brand Rimmel London. I didn't actually realise how many Rimmel products I owned and loved, some of them are my everyday ‘go to’ pieces that I couldn't live without and a few that I crack out for more special occasions.

First up is the Stay Matte Pressed Powder, I use this over my foundation every day without fail; it sets my foundation beautifully and keeps unwanted shine at bay. There is no need for me to try and find anything ‘better’ or more high end as I'm more than happy with the job this does.

If you’re looking for an eye liner that won’t budge then The Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer is what you need, it’s pretty much made your water line and stays in place all day
.
I have recently purchased the Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl in nude. I read a lot about this online and as im a big fan of their black I didn't hesitate to pick this up. Again it has great staying power and is perfect for covering up any eye redness and giving you a  natural look.

Another new product to me is the Scandaleyes Eye Shadow stick. This is so easy to apply that even if you’re not an eyeshadow expert like myself you can still create a gorgeous look. The formula is lovely and creamy and has great pigmentation. I Have Bulletproof Beige and I especially like to use this in the inner corner of my eyes.

Rimmel lip products are always popluar with bloggers especially the Kate moss collection and most recently the Apocalips, so obviously I joined the hype. The Kate Moss lipstick in 107 is one of my favourites for going out in, I love the colour pay off and it stays so long on my lips. I'm also loving Apocalips in Celestial which is perfect for adding a bit of glam to an everyday look.

What do you think, have Rimmel impressed you lately? What other high street brands are you loving?

I Do Like To Be Beside The Sea..

This weekend I travelled up to sunny (yes it was actually sunny!) Yorkshire for my Mums Birthday, her family all live up there so it was nice so get away for the weekend and see people that we probably haven’t seen since last year.

First of all I can’t believe how lucky we were with the weather; it’s been so cold these last few months so of course I made sure I packed jumpers but it was so nice to walk along the sea front without wearing a coat!
No trip to the seaside is complete with fish and chips and they do the biggest portions! I only managed to eat about half but it was sooo good! Obviously there was still room afterwards for ice cream.

In the evening we went out for a big family meal and my chicken with chorizo, spinach and goat’s cheese was definitely the winning dish, it was delicious.

We stayed in a cute little b&b along the sea front and I always love waking up and having breakfast cooked for me it just tastes better. We finished the morning by having a stroll along the beach before meeting back up with the family for drinks and a carvery.

The sun seems to have gone back in now so I hope that means spring isn't over already, let’s hope it comes back this weekend. Anyway, enough wishing I am back at the beach, back to work for me after a cheeky cup if tea of course.

Dainty Doll Blush, You are my Sunshine

004 You are My Sunshine

I was so excited when I found out Dainty Doll were on Fragrance Direct and, like a lot of other bloggers I was quick of the mark to make a purchase. From the range of products they had on the website, for me the stand out products were the blushes.

The packaging is so classy, I love the box it comes in the lady on the front adds that bit of quirkiness but still gives the product a high end look. The compact itself is very sleek and contains a huge mirror perfect for on the go touch ups if needed.

If you’re not immediately won over by the packaging then the product itself will definitely help.
You Are My Sunshine is a gorgeous peach toned blush with a golden shimmer running through it, I would say perfect for summer but I think the winter is here to stay in the UK for a good while yet! The gold shimmer adds a lovely highlight and gives my cheeks a healthy glow. The pigmentation is fantastic and the blush applies beautifully. Can you tell I like this product?

Nicola Roberts designed her products specifically for pale skin girls but really this blush will suit most skin tones.

The Dainty Doll Blushes usually retail for £13.50 so to pick this up for just £1.99 is an absolute steal. After using this product I would go as far as saying that it definitely is worth its high end price tag and could easily be on a par with the quality of a MAC Blush, but at £1.99 what are you waiting for!?

Have you tried any Dainty Doll Products yet?
